Hotel was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke

First checked in asked for non smoking room, put me and my son on the second floor, entire second floor smelled like cigarette smoke, very disgusting, got in room it also smelled like cigarette smoke, looked in dresser drawer between beds it was dirty with cigarette ashes that house keeping must have missed, house keeping also missed all the hair on the bathroom door where you hang your shower towel "GROSS". Second night NYPD showed up at neighbors door and arrested him for domestic violence which was a new experience for my 12 year old sonto witness through the thin walls, also there was only two usable outlets that were by the kitchenette so if you had to charge your phone you had to do it across the room. Don't expect house keeping, front desk told me they only clean once a week unless i wanted to pay $10 extra, unfortunately or maybe fortunately we only stood a week. I admit extended stay is not a 4 star hotel and it is designed for longer stays than your average hotel but it should at the least be clean and smell free. Be aware their are two extended stays within 2 blocks from each other this one i am commenting on is 55 Merrit which i wouldn't recommend to anyone unless your a Trucker. The second Extended Stay is 25 Merrit across from the cracker barrel which we stood at the second week of our trip. Much cleaner and nicer for family stay, but expedia doesnt offer this hotel on heir site. so i suggest if you have to stay at an Extended stay hotel pay the extra money

Very loud drunk group of girls came in late screaming n carrying on the staff did nothing we had go out and yell at them

Chaos reigns!

Pros: Location
Cons: Efficiency, additional personnel during peak hours of operation, staff adept at problem-solving skills.
I certainly understand how things happen and what havoc problems can create. However, this hotel was in a state of utter chaos: not enough personnel to adequately work the business, room keys not working to open doors, and for me they failed to have the room I had booked & received confirmation for available. :{ It took the receptionist 45 minutes to actually admit to that all while she would help other customers in between going through the motions of checking me in. She/they not only compromised me by NOT having the room, but then compounded the dilemma by wasting my time late at night for me to locate another hotel. Having worked in the hotel industry years ago for a reputable chain, if we over-booked, we at least tried to find other local hotels that might have open rooms to help the customer we inconvenienced. These days it seems that businesses aren't about the customer anymore; it's about just making the money not matter what. Disappointing.

Would be great if in the area for long term

Keeping in mind this hotel chain is geared to long term customers, please take my comments in context. Across the hall from my room was a dog who was either barking or was being taken out for a walk. And when his owner opened and closed their door, they let it slam waking me repeatedly through the night. Additional I had horrendous tv reception. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable. The location was great for shopping and food and the desk clerks were kind.

nice room and friendly staff

Pros: It's not a luxury hotel but it is quiet, the room is clean with comfortable beds and pillows, the staff is friendly, and the location is convenient.
Cons: the hotel is dog friendly but they have no outside garbage can for the 'doggy duty bag'
Location: the location is close to stores, highways, and sights in the Hudson Valley
We had a very good experience at this hotel. We will be staying here again in the near future.

Horrible option in the hotel Plenti Fishkill area

This place is awful - my car was broken into and two suitcases were stolen overnight- They said they didn't have cameras to catch anyone - sketchy- place also stunk and was old outdated and just dirty. for a little more you can stay at one of the nice Hyatt/Marriott/Hilton/whyndam hotel chains next door - all are better. Hyatt house has weekly and monthly rates and I think so does residence inn if u need a place for a while - Just avoid this dump - I warned u
