Quiet place to relax.

The resort is absolutely fantastic. It's clean and isolated. We stayed in 8-1 and had no one above us so what's absolutely ideal with an amazing view of the water. Use of kayaks with paddles and life jackets was a welcome addition. Staff are friendly and the resort is well looked after. If you are looking for a peace and quiet this is the place for you.

Beautiful view of Okeover Inlet

Pros: There were kayaks and canoes for use for free. The beautiful, picturesque setting is unbeatable
Cons: The towels looked like they've been used too much. Bedding could be more "hotel like"
Location: Waterfront location. Good for kayaking, canoeing, boating, etc
We have the best chalet at the site. It was right at the water's edge. There were lots of windows to frame the beautiful view. However, the rooms were a bit dated. Some upgrading in the decor and improvement of beddings and towels would be nice. Overall, it's at a beautiful and tranquil setting.

After a 10 hour commute, I was met by a smirking giggling horrible woman who said your reservations were cancelled, no apology. On my confirmation from Expedia it said confirmed reservation, no need to reconfirm.????

Pros: We liked the layout of the apartment and the view of Desolation Sound in the AM with the clouds hanging in the trees as the sun came up.
Cons: It would be nice if there were provisions to be able to watch movies or videos when the weather is a little dreary.
Location: The town of Lund is about 5 Km away from the resort, and there is not really anything there with the exception of a store, restaurant and a bakery.
We were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations since we could find no others in the area. We were not advised about not being able to have children in our building (2 such on property) which was disappointing because we were in the area to visit grandchildren. A little more information would have been helpful. The weather was OK, but could have been better.

If you are into exploring wilderness and having excellent level of comfort living, this hotel is for you. We enjoyed every minute of stay there. Close to the beach, kayaking rental is 3km away (be prepared for dusty road), Desolation Sound Park - Grace Harbour is about 2 hours away by kayak.

True get-away from everything

Pros: If you have a kayak or canoe, bring it, it is a nice place for that. I enjoyed the setting. Took 12 hours to get there from Seattle leaving at 7AM
Cons: Unfortunately, BC hasn't preserved much land in this general area for public access to the water. Which is a bit disappointing. Don't expect a beach.
Location: The restaurants and bakery or good. There are artisans, one of the best art spots is underneath the Lund Hotel. Really only fishing & kayaking to do.
The cabins look over the water, and the setting is quiet and peaceful. You'll need to stop in Powell River or Sechelt and get your food, bread, milk, coffee, filters, creamer, popcorn, sandwich makings etc. While you are in Powell River, pop up to Joyce Avenue and get gas at the 7-11, there really isn't a station in Lund. They have a full kitchen with all the tools you'll need to cook, and nice dishes to eat on. You will be doing all your own dishes by hand, no dishwasher. There is a great restaurant right down the road that serves one of the best dinners I've had travelling - Laughing Oyster. You'll have to walk from your parked car down to your chalet, so I would say that it is not handicap accessible. There is no cell service, most of the time, but there is a weak resort internet that you can access and do Skype or similar. There is no TV or other entertainment, unless it is already on your laptop or tablet, then you are good. Fully electric with big dinning tables and comfortable sofas. If your idea of vacation is just sitting on a deck, talking, barbequing, reading, and writing, or playing cards is what you long for, then this is perfect. The chalets are well appointed, and comfortable for a retreat. There are no curtains on the windows that face the lake, so if you aren't use to an open house it might feel weird. There are curtains in the bedroom. There were temperature controls for every room. There is a shortage of activities, if that is important.

The resort is very secluded and kept in immaculate condition. The rooms were clean and the resort staff were friendly and helpful. They even offered to drive us into town for the Blackberry festival. A must stay for anyone looking to get away for the weekend

Charming break from city life.

Pros: Quiet, with loads of character. Not your typical resort -- cedar finishes, each cottage unique. Rustic, but with all the comforts of home.
Cons: Not much to criticize here.
Location: We didn;t check out the Sunshine Coast Trail but will save that for next time. Laughing Oyster and historic Lund if you feel like exporing.
We spent two wonderful nights here. Breathtaking views, canoes and kayaks available, and clean, comfortable beds were a much welcome break from life in YVR -- but with all the amenities. It took a little while to warm up the cabin, but once we discovered a window had been left wide open the problem was easily solved. Buffet dinner and music at the Laughing Oyster were slightly over-rated, but ok. Highlight was meandering around the coastline in a canoe and stopping for lunch on the beach.
