9.4/10 Exceptional! (1,003 reviews)
At the last minute we decided to skip the Dominican Republic's Punta Cana/Bavaro area because of the sargassum/seaweed issue at this time of the year and the mixed reviews on all-inclusive in Bavaro. We scrambled to find the perfect alternative. We settled for the south coast and Casa de Campo Resort & Villas was our choice, a better alternative I suppose if you like serenity, less crowd, exclusivity and of course a clean, seaweed-free beach. There are many choices of accommodation that you can choose from, from 5-bedroom private villas to premier suites (barely a year old) and to the classic renovated suites. We had VIP access due to our Expedia status and we had extra benefits as we stayed in a Premier Suite so we really had a great time. Regardless of where you stay you are provided with a golf cart to go around the massive 7000-acre property. When we found a destination too far (for us) to use the golf cart, we requested a complimentary private transportation, a benefit of Premier Suites. Anyeli, our Premier assistant was so prompt answering our queries and requests. She pampered us to no end. Kudos too to Jose & Israel from the Premier concierge and Antonio from Lago restaurant for great services. We only had minor disappointments and one was during our first dinner at the Minitas Restaurant wherein some dishes did not taste freshly made. Another was in Causa Peruvian resto at the marina that took forever for our food and bill to arrive. Would we come back? Absolutely!
