“Easy and very convenient to my hospital visit”

“The staff were excellent. Very accommodating with any request. Super friendly and welcoming. Fantastic amenities and location. We would highly recommend this hotel.”

“Well located to shops, restaurants, bus, and walking distance to the train station, but room was pretty basic. Many eateries in the area which serve when the in house catering is closed (open 10:00-3:00). Building is old, so not surprised by some minor plumbing issues. Staff friendly and helpful.”

“Lindsey and Richard run a wonderful B&B with a cooked to order breakfast with farm fresh eggs. The rooms are spotless and well taken care of during the stay by Lindsey. The area is quiet at night for a good sleep, the yard and gardens lovely, and an excellent pub close by. We really hope to be back one day.”

“Need a sign on the wall in the en suite to warn guest to be careful when exiting as I banged my head a few times ”

“We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay.”

“Lovely pub hotel, close to Gatwick airport. We had an upstairs room in the separate annex outside the main building. Very spacious room, clean bathroom, and comfy bed. Had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent (if a little pricey). Was leaving for the airport at 7:30am and breakfast started from 8, so they prepared us a very substantial packed breakfast to go. Overall excellent value for money and would certainly stay again and recommend.”

“We loved our stay at the Bear. If you’re a Pooh Bear admirer, it’s an absolute must! Cute and cozy rooms with Hundreds-Acre Wood wallpaper and tastefully themed decor. A five minute (if even) walk to Pooh Corner and an easy walk to the Pooh Sticks bridge and other Ashdown Forest spots. Reliable parking in their lot, which is a big plus if you’ll be travelling by car. Great food and drinks at the pub as a bonus! Would absolutely recommend!”

“My husband and I stayed on a Saturday night in November as a birthday treat. We stayed in the loft suite. This room is clean, cosy beautifully decorated. The bathroom is amazing ! We absolutely loved the jetted bathtub. It really was a selling point for us. Breakfast was very nice. Lovely fresh eggs. We enjoyed having our own private dining toom too. Paul was very nice and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be coming back again. Thank you .”
