First time staying at this hotel and did so only because they were running a special but definitely not worth the money unless you have no other options.

Not impressedPosted Aug 29, 2015 on Hotels
Too much smell of smoke throughout the entire facility. Room smelled like a lot of air freshener to hide odors.

Very comfortable.Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: See above.
Cons: Although never offered and understood, there was no morning breakfast, or similar. It would be absolutely one of the best if something was available
Location: We live in the area and were displaced for the night. But many, ,any things to do and see in the Durham/Raleigh and the surrounding area.
Low-noise A/C (comparatively with other hotels). Clean, pleasing, comfortable, spacious. Parking under high/bright lot lights. Amenities.

You get what you pay forPosted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: Very convenient to airport, major highways.
Cons: The room climate control.
Location: It's right in Raleigh area, so its very easy to get to restaurants, Bulls game, Duke University, NC State, UNC. etc.
The hotel is convenient to the airport, rt. 40 and rt. 85. The room was clean. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was also clean. My issue was with the cooling unit. There was no way to just put the fan on. So every 10-15 minutes the air conditioner would blast on and wake us up. So we didn't get a good night's rest. Also, when we checked in the hotel was empty. I asked if we could get two twin beds instead of one queen and the wanted to charge me an additional $/night. I could understand if the hotel was booked solid, but the rooms were empty.

It was a comfortable stay. Only negative was an unemptied trash receptacle under the bathroom sink.

An Unhappy ExperiencePosted May 7, 2015
Cons: Respect guest preferences and type of room reservations.
Location: Breakfast at Brigs on US54.
I booked a full suite, arrived late and was assigned a standard suite on the smoking floor. The smoke odor was so overwhelming I asked to be assigned another room, NON SMOKING. I was told, only rooms on the smoking floor were available and Expedia RARELY transmits guest preferences. I was assigned another room, that was sprayed with Lysol and the tinge of cigarette smoke. On the second day, I was able to get the NON SMOKING room that I paid for. The best part of this stay was signing an agreement not to smoke in a room that allowed smoking. I am voting with my wallet, my feet and my fiery pen against staying at Candlewood Suites.
