“I had read the reviews about the steep stairs and thought they would be no problem. Think of them almost like boat stairs. Very difficult with luggage. I was scared the first time I saw them but my husband managed to get our luggage up and down being very careful (we only had carry on bags, so I would not recommend if you have large suitcases). "Everyone—from the front desk to the concierge, and the staff at the restaurant, bar, and café—was excellent. We were stranded in Amsterdam due to severe weather in January 2026, and after two flight cancellations, the best thing that could have happened to us was staying at this hotel for five days. Despite the circumstances, they made our stay in Amsterdam truly wonderful. I have never felt so welcome at a hotel. Beyond the outstanding staff, the hotel itself is fantastic, and its downtown Amsterdam location is absolutely perfect."
