“We found our stay at the hotel a good one ,the room was very spacious and the gardens outside were exceptional , breakfast was well served and an all round pleasant stay .
If I was nit picking ,the one thing that my wife complains about in most hotels that there was no light above the mirror and no ledges around it to put stuff as she gets ready”
“Very well maintained and fab to stay. We had dinner there and it was fabulous. I booked a table in advance. It was full when we were there, so would recommend booking ahead. Steak and shiraz with a peppercorn sauce. Breakfast was set out on a full table to help yourself with juices, cereal, pastry, croissants, toast and there were jams a plenty to chose, along with marmite. There were muffins and bars along with fruit basket. We were greeted and asked if wale would like tea or coffee. Staff……
“We arrived early but we're shown straight to our room. The room was a good size with a very clean bathroom. The bathroom was of a good size with a walk in shower.
The breakfast menu was more than adequate, enabling a cooked breakfast, cereal or fruit every day. The quality of the breakfast was excellent.
The location was great, allowing a short walk into town or the old town and a lift ride to the seafront. This is a bonus after a long day out, as getting to and from the evening meal location……
“Great location, close to seafront.
Welcoming hosts, lovely couple who couldn’t do enough for their guests.
Superb breakfast- vast range and all cooked to order - served fresh and hot.
5* stay - will definitely return”
“We loved our stay at The Fig Tree. The room was very clean, updated and comfortable. It’s a great location and we really enjoyed the free breakfast. Often times a free breakfast is a buffet where food is sitting out, but we loved being able to order from a menu and it was delicious as well. I would definitely stay here again.”
“Poor shower design flooded bathroom
On our first breakfast, buffet service disorganized. Yoghurt bowl empty, no fruit, ran out of cups, no marmalade etc The staff run off their feet but taking the flack from residents politely.”
“Liked everything with one exception. We had booked a superior double room. Upon arrival we were told we were being upgraded. The room was dominated by a super king size bed. There were 4 large lamps and 2 overhead bedside lamps. However no chair and no fridge. I enquired and unfortunately they did not have a spare fridge. I expected a chair and fridge in a superior room.”
“Quiet, comfortable hotel. Great location for the beach. The staff were just lovely. Friendly and helpful. Decor a little dated but charming in an oldy woldy way. Nice breakfasts.”
