"We were warmly greeted by the lady at the front desk, who, noticing we were from PA and only staying one night, promptly upgraded us to one of the best rooms on the property, top floor beachside suite with a balcony overlooking an amazing panoramic view of the shore (#350). We stood gaping at the scene for some time and trying to figure out how to extend our stay for another night (sadly, not to be). We had a delicious dinner at the Lord Bennett restaurant across the street and afterwards went for a twilight stroll on the beach. Absolutely breathtaking seascape with rocks arranged like mystic runes at Stone Henge. We left the window slightly open all night and fell asleep to the sound of the surf. Comfortable queen beds, spacious room, spotless bathroom. Continental breakfast was adequate, though not quite enough seating. The lobby does triple duty as check-in, gift store and breakfast space. All in all, terrific stay. The place felt undiscovered — very few people (in late July!), especially on the beach, which was vast, endlessly fascinating, dotted with incredible rock formations and tidepools (colorful starfish, sea anemones, crabs, etc). The whole experience felt like it could have taken place in 1956."
