We needed a place for one night after a wedding. This worked for us - it was near both the ceremony and the reception. The bed was very comfortable. Traffic noise could be a problem for some, as this motel is very close to hwy 101. Also, someone heavyset would have difficulty in the bathroom, which is very narrow, and the toilet is stuck behind the sink. Close to shopping and restaurants. Staff was very accommodating as we arrived a couple hours before check in and they were able to get us a room rather quickly. We were okay if they were not able to but I appreciate they were able to make the effort.

For the price and fact that it's a motel, the friendliness and service was great. Breakfast is included and there were lots of good quality options to choose from. My only complaint is there wasn't a blanket in the room in addition to the sheet and bed cover.

The room was clean and fresh. The bed linens were crisp and clean. The room was equipped with a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, iron, flat screen tv, and hair dryer. Complimentary bottled water, coffee, fruit and pastries are provided in the main office in the morning. The hotel staff was friendly, even going so far as to remember and address me by my name when greeting me in the morning. Judy at the front desk was amazing. Her excellent customer service was such a relief after a terrible experience down the street. She really saved the night.

We stayed with our preteen and little guy and it was wonderful. Area felt pretty safe. We had a bay view room and got to watch the lighthouse at Alcatraz at night. Real close to dining, Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman's Wharf and just a couple blocks from the Big Bus station. Breakfasts were good and definitely saved money not paying for that every day! They are strict about the breakfast cutoff.

The Argonaut is in a great location to see many of San Francisco bay area attractions, all within walking distance. The hotel is clean, quiet and safe, with great hospitality service.

It's a charming, well-maintained older California building. We stayed in a room overlooking the courtyard and enjoyed the quiet, the flowers and the serenity of the whole location. It's convenient for restaurants and shops, the Hop-on/Hop-off tour bus, and there's even a 24-hr Walgreens close by. We're very happy to have found a hotel in San Francisco we want to return to.

The hotel has been completely renovated and is tastefully decorated, cozy, with ample parking, and a g family running it are very lovely people.

It was a comfortable place to stay. They take care of the place. Electrical is modern. No problems at all. Refrigerator actually gets cold and not noisy. Good location for us.

Their guest service is a 20/10. I called earlier in the week to ask about arriving early and parking. They were gracious and accommodating, saying we could check into our room if it was ready when we arrived. On arrival, the doorman (shamefully I didn’t get his name) was welcoming, friendly and efficient. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean bed and pillows were comfortable. Great location within walking distance to fishermen warf and pier 69 and pier 33 for Alcatraz tour. Definitely would recommend this hotel

Great location to stay. Many sites and restaurants in short walking distance plus public transportation is available and easy to use.
