This was a heck of an early start to climb Mt Sneffels. I was very lucky to get these wonderful colors after a 4.50am start. A night sleeping in the back of the truck at the trailhead. It was worth it as I managed to miss the afternoon storms.

The Blue Lakes in the San Juan Mountains are great for a day hike. View from the rim to Mt. Sneffels at an altitude of 3902m (12,793 ft). The photo shows upper and middle blue lakes. You can get a view of all three blue lakes from the summit of Mt. Sneffels (4315m / 14,157 ft.). Must be even better in the summer months, when all the flowers are still their bloom and the mountains are covered with snow. #GreatOutdoors #Nature #Adventure
