We were absolutely delighted to have found this hotel, it was delightful. The breakfast was superb, freshly cooked and served by very pleasant staff. The room was comfortable and recently decorated. Very satisfied guests, thank you.

We have stayed at he South Beach Hotel before and this visit did not disappoint in any way. The room was comfortable and everything worked. The breakfast was superb - we will certainly stay agan when next in the area.

A great stay

I’ve got to say the staff were second to none. I had an appointment at 1pm and due to a missed train connection got to the hotel at 12.50. They went out of their way to make sure I was there on time. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and the night porter was great. He had a very exuberant crowd in until 4am and managed them really well. If I have to find something to improve on, it would be the shower in my room. Not very powerful and not particularly warm. But that was minor and made up for by the fact I had a great view of Ailsa Craig.

There were very loud voices very early on the first night . There was a lot of loud banging above late on the second night so peaceful sleep was a problem

Very dated rooms

Had to go searching for someone to check in, then again later to find someone to serve a drink at the bar. Room is clean and tidy with an effort made to update it with new curtains and bed throw, but furniture is old and mostly orange pine, stained and marked. Paintwork is chipped and marked and generally tired I had a view of a wall from my bedroom window. Bathroom fan is incredibly noisy and bathroom fittings are also dated. When I asked I was told the WiFi doesn't work this end of the building. Not much help as I wanted to do some work. The bed was rock hard, sleeping on a bench would have been more comfortable. Food was good, fresh, well cooked and interesting, though when I asked in the bar for a menu, I was told someone would bring one to me which I found strange. Wine was reasonably priced.

Lovely comfortable bedroom, good size with lots of space, somewhere to sit and a tv with lots of channels. Bathroom was clean although dated but had plenty of towels and complimentary toiletries. The hotel is quirky and a must for golf lovers with lots of pictures, photos and memorabilia. Comfortable and cosy bar and lounge with a lovely charm and locals using it as well. I missed breakfast as slept too well!

Friendly hotel in excellent location.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Had a good sized ground floor room with small patio leading on to a garden which is a very family friendly area. If patios were cleaned up e.g. sprayed with Wet and Forget and tables wiped it would make a huge difference because everything else is clean and well cared for. Well situated for walks along the beach and into town.

Great stay

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and very clean. If I had to find a fault, I wish the showers could be warmer and more powerful. But would definitely recommend and would go back again.
