About this property
*Cozy Family Hideaway (Mountain Views + Big Deck)*
About Meschelle’s place
Enjoy the sweeping views and fresh mountain air from our beloved hideaway, tucked up in the hills but less than a 10-minute drive from downtown Waynesville. Spend a cozy evening on the deck watching the sunset, or venture out along the trails on the property. There are also many other trails, some with waterfalls to explore nearby. Plan to spend a day at glittering Lake Junaluska for scenic paddle boarding/canoeing, miniature golf, swimming and fishing, or stroll along the water walkway. No matter what your mountain adventure looks like, let our retreat be your home away from home.
The space
This home has all the comforts you could want for a relaxing weekend — or week — away. We invite you to soak up every moment on our elevated deck, which boasts stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains that even the visiting birds and squirrels can’t resist. With a locking gate at the top of the outdoor stairs, children and pets can roam freely on the deck as well.
The 1350-foot living area is well appointed for gathering. Watch a movie by the gas fireplace, or play board games around the large dining room table after a dinner you can prepare from our well-equipped kitchen. (There are also plenty of great restaurants in the area if you prefer not to lift a finger — it’s vacation, after all.)
The house comfortably sleeps 8 people, with three bedrooms (one with a queen-sized bed and the other two with bunk beds - full-sized mattresses on the bottom and twin-sized mattresses on top) and two bathrooms.
We do have WiFi and a Roku for streaming, in addition to a DVD player with a large selection of movies to meet a variety of tastes. We also have antenna service, which provides access to a few channels.
*Please Note: When you are driving up the hill to the house, after passing the trailer home, you will have to take a sharp right turn. There is a drainage ditch to the left when you are turning, so be careful not to fall into it.
We’re here to make your stay as pleasant as can be! Please let us know how we can be of assistance.
There are security cameras on the property; however, they are not facing the house. They are only facing the road coming up to the property and the trails behind the house. Therefore, you will have your privacy.

Weekend Getaway
We had an wonderful stay at this home. We were able to cook in the kitchen, hike the trails, enjoy the view from the deck, enjoy the hot tub, and the biggest highlight for us was the fireplace.
We really enjoyed our quick weekend get away. The house was beautiful and the views were amazing. It was very close to town for shopping and restaurants and the only issue was getting up the stone driveway but we put it on 4wd and got up with no issues. We will have to come back and explore the property some more.
Great house, good location to many different areas. Nice downtown area. Good restraunts. Two of our favorites are Blue Rooster, southern cooking, and Chef's Table. Farm to table fine dining. Quiet and private place with pretty views. Larger parties would be very comfortable here. We would stay here again. Pet friendly also.
Beautiful views, mins from Waynesville, tons of room
We really enjoyed our stay at this VRBO location. There were plenty of sleeping options, fully equipped kitchen and wonderful great room to hang out. The views across the valley into the mountain can't be beat. The drive up the gravel road to the house requires attention because it is steep and has one sharp turn. Arrival makes the ascent worth it for the vista!! Thank you.
This is a cute little home located very close to downtown Waynesville. It is up a fairly steep gravel road on the side of a mountain and has a beautiful view from the porch! The living room is spacious and was perfect for our family gathering. Dining room table can seat 8 for meals and games. There is a hot tub but we did not use it. Large kitchen that could use a small table for 2. The Large gas fireplace really kept us cozy! It is so close
To everything! Only down side was they could use some better cookware, the pans they have there need to be replaced.
Would recommend and we would definitely rent again!
It was very clean, comfortable and well decorated. My husband and I had our daughter and her three daughters. There was plenty of room. I had to buy containers to put left over food in. I had trouble in the morning getting the kuerig to work, so I bought a coffee pot and left it there. The Kuerig worked that afternoon. My husband and I are avid coffee drinkers. We appreciated having a washer and dryer there. We were not use to having such low water pressure, and learned we can only be using water at one spot at a time. I think low water pressure is common in the mountains. It was easy access to the various sites we visited. The power to the stove was turned off. The owners were prompt to get us help.
We can into town for a wedding and this home was a perfect home base for our family! We loved the views and how close we were to town. I appreciated having a washer and dryer and dishwasher available. We will for sure try to stay here on our next trip into town.

Surprise
Misrepresentation. TV reception not available, Satellite dishes and wires not hooked up. Alternative, some DVD's. No directions. Road very steep, very sharp turn on to property.... had to pass the turn.. back on to lane, pull back onto steep road.. back up road and gun it up the steep lane. (after removing large rocks). Road was narrow with briars and brush that scraped the car. Family lunch visit was canceled over their safety concerns, as were our own trips in and out. Otherwise ok. But, never again, and will be very cautious about further VRBO rentals.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend here. We are readers, so it would have been nice to have a little better/brighter lighting, but we made do. Not that we were bothered, but it should be noted that there is no t.v. service (i.e. antenna, cable, dish, etc.) so DVDs are your only option to use with the television.
