“The hotel looks okay from the outside but inside it is old and dirty. The bedding and towels were stained, and the room had a bad odor. I tried to buy water from a half full vending machine and it was sold out. They could only give one key per room. Didn’t have change for the laundry room and their staff couldn’t keep up with the breakfast room although there were only a handful of guests present. Probably one of my worst hotel stays ever. So disappointed. I truly believe that something……

“Such a lovely, peaceful place to stay! The rain on the skylights is stunning, the property is gorgeous, and the hosts are so kind and communicative. 10/10 would recommend.”

“The property in bad condition. Outside room 106 drain cover in road has a big hole at the cover. My wife didn’t see it and twisted her ankle fell and scraped her knee and elbow. The outlets in the rooms are loose and weren’t able to use. Pillows are terrible. Made for small children. Staff is nice but place needs TLC.”

“Its definitely an older red lion hotel. There were a womens personal belongings thrown around outside one of the doors. There was graffiti and trash around different areas outside of the building. The staff was very rude. The staff wont give you any extra pillows or blankets. I will never stay at this red lion again. My mother is disabled and the staff gave us nothing but problems about parking and the extra pillows we requested. The pictures are very deceiving. They seem nice and well. However,……

“Only place to stay at St Helens. Older hotel but decent. Had trouble with bathtub being too high to get in and out. Next time will arrange for handicap room. No elevator so arrange for ground floor in advance. To pricey for the hotel but no other place in stay in area. Should be much cheaper for what you get. Would stay somewhere else for price alone.”
