“The actual hotel was clean and staff were great. However the restaurant experience was very bad. We were told half the meals on the menu were not available, plus the draught beer was also not available. I ordered fish and chips, which when arrived the fish was hard as a rock and definitely not fresh. They got me another one but that too wasn’t very good either. My nephews burger had a bad taste to it and he couldn’t eat it but didn’t want anything else to eat from there. The waitress seamed to……

“Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival and lovely to speak to throughout our short stay. The hotel is immaculately kept and tastefully furnished. Our room was spacious (family room with a queen bed and bunk beds for our 2 children was a dream for them) and had great amenities. Bathroom was clean and basic toiletries were supplied along with shaving and dental kits. Enjoyed our short stay and would highly recommned.”

“The only factor in favour for the hotel is the history and the period property. It needs sprucing up the exterior and somewhat the interior. Room can get hot despite not south face. Breakfast was too slow and so we left without having the main item , 40 minutes after entering.They wrote that breakfast is leisurely but it could be putting a spin on the low staffing.Reception personnel are not quite welcoming or service like..”

“Lovely accommodation in a pretty, quiet village. Pub closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so needed to drive or a 20 minute walk to find somewhere to eat. There is a nice village shop across the road. The pub breakfast and dinner were both good on Wednesday. Tbh it was really nice to be somewhere so quiet and peaceful and it seems many restaurants are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays in IOW. Would recommend, especially if you have a car. Owners helpful and easily reached on Whatsapp. Good walks nearby.”
