"Great choice if looking for a budget option near the airport. Amenities were quite nice, bathroom was clean, and staff was very helpful. Not a ton of space, but very doable for a night or two."

The property was exceptional. Our room was lovely, clean, and well-appointed. Every aspect of the renovation was clearly well planned and thoughtfully executed. It was wonderful to have ample parking right out front. We only wish we could have stayed longer. After so many generic hotels on the South Island, it was a lovely treat to find this cozy gem. We hope to return—it’s a wonderful addition to this charming town.

Great little boutique motel in Ashburton.
The host greeted me and showed me the room. The room has already had heat pump on which was great for the cold night.
You have all amenities and then some like nespresso gusto machine. The thing that surprised me was the ropes in the wardrobe, just like in hotels. A good touch I think.
We had a wee glitch at night where the TV turned itself back on every 2-3hrs. I have let the host know at the checkout in the morning. However, the bed and pillows...

Nice and peaceful location. Mostly heard birds chirping as the main sound. Clean and has shampoo, conditioner and soap in the shower. The stand alone bathroom had no hand soap, which was a bit odd. Has two different laundry and dryer locations on the property that are coin operated, you need to bring your own laundry soap which we had to go to the grocery store to purchase.
Sleeps up to 8 people. Each bed had a heated blanket if needed (not sure about the fold out couch because we didn't use...

A great place to stay in Christchurch. Conveniently located off the main road to the airport. Access to sights and activities is excellent.
Also easy to get to some great cafes, restaurants, and shopping areas. Staff are super nice and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable. Bill and Pat went above and beyond to make my stay excellent.
Rooms are quiet and comfy and have a full kitchenette.
Some also have spa tubs. Highly recommend the Airport Palms.

The room was great. The bathroom was great except there was no hair conditioner. The floor however did not appear to have been cleaned. The carpet had stuff on it (including someone’s old contact lens!) and the floor was sticky on parts. The kitchenette was stocked but we didn’t really need that since we ate out every meal. Overall good stay.

Stayed for one night on a road trip through. It doesn't look like much but the room was great. Very spacious, had a fridge, kitchen, kettle, dining table, couch...and everything was spotless. Owners do a really nice job with the rooms.

The room was spacious and warm! Warm is a good thing here since it was July and most other places we stayed at were freezing, so we really appreciated that. We really liked everything about the room, and the coffee/dining table was really practical. The owner/manager was really nice too.

Golden hotel is the perfect stay once landing in Christchurch and before leaving again. Very clean and nice space. Staff is also responsive and kind with inquiries. There is a Vietnamese cafe right on the main lobby so very convenient for a quick pick me up. Overall, would stay here again so definitely recommend!

This is a rather posh hotel on a restored old college campus. Currently, the area houses art studios, shops, music/art classes, restaurants, food trucks and a Michelin star rated wine bar. The area is very walkable and across from an incredibly beautiful park.
