The layout was challenging for younger children— a big staircase runs the middle and splits at the top. One side has the bathroom. The other side has two bedrooms so in the night the kids needed to navigate those stairs to the toilet. Heavy doors close off the living room and kitchen areas, but behind those doors are delightful rooms. We’d stay again, especially with older kids. Quiet location, lovely hosts next door, helpful— great base to explore more remote parts of the highlands. We didn’t see any tour buses or large groups. That was really wonderful! Everything is thought of in the cottage and the setting is extremely peaceful.
