Nitty gritty detailed information:
THE HOME:
Situated on 3 wooded acres, our renovated, spacious home offers a peaceful place to escape and relax with your family and friends. We have done that many times and we would love for you to have the same wonderful experience! It's located on town maintained road (which basically means it's plowed in the winter and wide enough that you don't have to pull over for oncoming cars like many of the seasonal roads along the lake).

Our home features 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms (one bathroom includes a tub while the other two have showers). A spacious living room with flat screen TV, and vaulted ceiling with a wall of windows. The downstairs has the third bedroom plus separate space with 2 boat beds and a pull out couch that can sleep 2 more. The room features a flat screen tv and adjoined is a 300 sqft arcade which is fun for all ages! Our large eat-in kitchen with dining area for at least 8 and the large central island make it the perfect gathering spot as the heart of the home. You will enjoy meals here whether that means cooking with all the pots/pans or whether that means take-out as there's plenty of space for both! The fridge and dishwasher can make stowing away leftovers and dirty dishes a breeze. Our spacious deck with outdoor sectional and chaise lounge chairs has to be a highlight of the home too - perfect for lounging with a good book, a drink/snack or just watching the sunset over seasonal lake views while listening to nature. We have a non-heated “plunge pool” with its own deck, sun umbrella and deck chairs. The third "dining" deck with gas grill also lets you enjoy the outdoors with a separate outdoor dining table (with seating for 8). Each bath is located on separate floors allowing for privacy while still being together. You and your guests will have ample space to park your cars/trucks/boats, etc! (For those interested, nearby Smith Park has a boat launch area for a nominal daily fee.) We recently installed a hot tub for guest use all year round!

We hope you'll feel pampered and comfortable in each bedroom. All our beds and pillows have mattress/pillow covers for hygiene and peace of mind. With clean linens and fluffy pillows, you'll find a king bed in the main floor bedroom and a queen bed in the lower level bedroom (for a total of 4 guests) - with the main floor bedroom having its own flat screen tv. All the bedrooms have blinds and/or curtains that block out the majority of sunlight that comes through the windows. The house can accommodate an additional 2 guests with the use of a queen sleeper sofa. We have enough linens and pillows for those too! It is located in the game room so there is nobody sharing a bedroom. Recently, we added a sliding barn boor so that this lower level sofabed area has some added privacy.

Whether you're staying for a week or a long weekend, we have tried to provide all of the conveniences of being at home without you having to bring anything! All of the below are provided:
• Clean linens (bath towels, pool towels, sheets, pillowcases, comforters/blankets)
• Ironing board, vacuum, hair dryer
• 4 Streaming TV's (2-Roku 2-FireTV w/ subscription to YouTubeTV and Disney+)
• STRONG Wifi and cell signals (no land line)
• Washer and dryer
• Fully equipped kitchen features pots, pans, utensils, plates, glasses, mugs, kitchen towels, toaster oven, blender, coffee maker and Keurig
• Central A/C and radiant heating
• New stainless steel appliances
• Gas grill on deck (grill tools)
• Child-friendly conveniences available upon request: Pack n play, baby monitor (audio - not video!), high chair and 2 booster seats

The house is set on a large lot and an uber private location provides tranquility at all times of the day and night - with plenty of space to explore, run around and enjoy. You can hear an occasional jet ski but more often than not, this house nestled in the woods will make you feel like you're camping with all the comforts of a fully functional, temperature controlled home :)

THE AREA:
We feel our location in Hector is as good as it gets! More than 20 wineries, a handful of breweries and a few distilleries are just a short drive away, along with several delicious restaurants to fit everyone’s budget - from fine dining (Farm to table) to comfort food (pizza/burgers). Most offer beautiful views of the lake to enjoy while you sip/taste the best of the region. We would be happy to recommend some of our favorites to you!

Our A-Frame home with Seneca Lake access is situated on 2+ park like acres and located just off the Winetrail. Our home offers a peaceful place to escape and relax with your family and friends. It's located on town-maintained road for year-round access.

Great family friendly stay!

This was the perfect place to stay for our Winter break with our teenagers. The location was great and the hot tub was perfect for the snowy/icy weather we had! Communication with the owners was great. We enjoyed every aspect and wish we could have stayed longer. Will be staying here again!

Relaxing Getaway

We loved our stay in Hector!! We had 3 separate couples traveling together and the layout of the house was ideal with each of us sleeping on a separate level. We especially loved the lake view from the main living area and deck, the well-equipped kitchen and the hot tub. The beach is a quick walk down the hill and there are many wineries within a few minute drive. Watkins Glen and the Corning Glass museum are an easy drive too. Overall we absolutely loved our stay and hope to do another family trip here again!

Wonderful family vacation

Had a fantastic relaxing week with our family. We try to stay on Seneca Lake annually and this was our first time at this location. The proximity to Watkins Glen and so many wineries is perfect. The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough so that 2 couples and a family of 3 could all spread out. We spent alot of time outside enjoying the pool, hot tub and the beautiful parklike setting. Thank you Annie and Gary for making your lovely home available to us!

Beautiful home and perfect location

My fiancé and I stayed there over Presidents’ Day weekend with our two dogs. It was a beautiful home in a great location. Very quiet and away from everything right on the lake but also within 5 minutes of a ton of breweries and wineries. Would definitely recommend to anyone the house was great we 3 floors and a bedroom on each floor, fun game area in the basement, hot tub and pool(in the summer) outside. Was the perfect weekend get away home and the house was very clean and can’t say enough about how convenient the location was. Right on the wine trail and close to breweries and the state park trails as well.

Family getaway

This property has everything you need for a perfect getaway. House is even better in person, updated bathrooms so nice. Kitchen is very well stocked loved the hot tub! Short walk to lake we stayed in April weather wasn't great but I can imagine using the lake in summer would be so convenient. Downstairs area is awesome newly renovated loved the air hockey and darts. My only negative was main floor mattress very soft and lumpy.

Beautiful Lake House Stay

This property is beautifully maintained - clean and updated. We had a relaxing stay in a very peaceful setting. The only thing that could have made it better would be a better view of nearby Seneca Lake (which is obviously out of their control). The property listing is accurate and the owners have thought of many things to make the stay more comfortable and easy for their guests. The set-up of the house is perfect for multiple families - there are sleeping quarters and a bathroom on every floor. The home was immaculate and no pest problems - which can be an issue near the lake. We would love to stay here again!

Wonderful home in a fantastic location!

We had a wonderful time in the Seneca lake area staying at this property! The house was clean and appeared just as the listing described & photos showed. The decor is modern, but still with that woodsy/lakehouse vibe. There are so many amenities in the house that we didn’t even have an opportunity to use (it was just 2 adults & 2 dogs), but we did stay in & cook several meals and the kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc which was so helpful! The location can’t be beat - within minutes of multiple wineries and breweries, and a 15 minute drive to a grocery store for essentials. We walked to the lake to fish (no luck!) and watch the sunset several nights. Annie & Gary were fantastic hosts and very communicative during the booking process and before our trip to provide suggestions and answer any questions we had. We will definitely be back!

Welcoming Home

Annie was a fabulous host. We arrived earlier than planned and she graciously let us check in early. The house is wonderful! Our group was myself, my husband, my older brother, my niece her husband & 2 children, another niece with 6 year old twins. The pool and hot tub and huge deck was our happy place. There is a waterfall right across the street from the driveway (hike in a little way) well worth the effort! The kitchen had all the cookware you need to feed a tribe. We all would definitely love to come back. I highly recommend this gem. It is very close to Watkins Glen. Loads of hiking, cute shops and of course wineries and breweries.

Can I get in?

This review would have been a five if it were not for the check-in. The Lake House is great. We were given two different times for check in and three different times for check out in various communications. Then we were not given the proper instructions on how to get the electronic lock to work. We finally got the owner and did get in.

Fabulous, secluded property with all the perks!

This property was top notch all around! The decks were beautiful, the pool was great and the inside of the home was fantastic. The owners spared no expense in renovating this property. Newly redone on the inside and everything was top of the line. Also, the place was spotless, entirely clean and so well taken care of. Annie went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, right down to a bottle of wine to welcome us, and a Lego set for our son! Also, the convenience of having all towels and linens provided can't be discounted. This was such an awesome perk, as in my opinion, the worst part of any vacation home is having to lug bulky sheets and towels there, then take them home again. The property was secluded, but had a nice little view of the lake from the big deck. There wasn't a thing that we would have changed about this home. We really enjoyed our time here and hope to stay here again next year.

Vacation with Matilda

The house was easy to find and was pretty much central to everything up and down the Seneca Lake Wine/microbrewery Trail from Watkins Glen to Geneva. The house was very clean and looked just like the pictures on the website. As it was just the two of us plus a 13.5 year old dog (Matilda), we basically stayed on the main floor with one short game of air hockey just for kicks. The appliances were all in great shape with no issues at all. The furniture (indoor/outdoor) was very comfortable as well. One shortcoming was the bed in the master was very soft as compared to the firm mattress we have at home. The property is a work in progress as evidenced by the pallets and pallets of stone, slate and technoblock lining the driveway but once in place they will look great! The fire pit was a welcome addition and lit up quickly on the 2nd chilly night. Only dipped our toes in the pool on the last day but in the middle of the summer, we could see it getting a lot of use. Annie communicated with us really well and gave us a few suggestions as far as places to go eat/drink. I highly suggest Dano Haugier for a nice Viennese dinner, Two Goats Brewery and taking in a wood bat College baseball league game in Geneva or Elmira. Overall we had a very nice stay and would highly recommend staying here for a nice relaxing stay along Seneca Lake.

Very impressed, private setting surrounded by woods, walk to nearby park and lake

The home sits off the access road up a winding driveway not far from the main highway. A frame style with huge wrap a round wood deck, swimming pool and views galore.Once inside we immediatley were impressed by the large eat in county kitchen, dinning room and large living room with sliding doors leading to the deck and offering a great view of the woods and lake in the short distance. The home was fully stocked with all the essentials one would need. Large screen tv in living room, downstairs bedroom also had flat screen tv. Finished basement area with full bedroom and private bath and game room. Also access through sliding door to rear yard. Upstairs also had bedroom with 2 boat themed beds and full bath. The home was very clean inside and out with pride of ownership showing through. The owners had left us a bottle of local finger lakes wine as a greeting and a binder with great info of the areas attractions and restaurants and also a list of phone numbers in case of an emergency. There were also some brochures and guide books to help us get familiar with the area attractions.I would definitley recommend this home if your looking for a great rental in finger lakes area.We ate at a great italian restaurant right in watkins glen, had home made ice creme next door. We stopped at about 10 wineries and visited Watkins Glen Park and hiked up through the canyon. We took a side trip to Ithaca to see Cayuga Lake. The leaves were beautiful as we visited in october. This was by far the best rental i had ever stayed in and we travel a lot. We will be back in summer.

Absolutely beautiful lakehouse close to many vineyards! Best Thanksgiving ever! Must visit again!

Our Thanksgiving is usually in upstate NY area. So, looking for a home to host 8 adults & 4 teens can be unnerving. But once I inquired about the home, Annie & Gary were wonderful and put us at ease. They answered all our questions, were super easy to communicate w/ and accessible by phone/email throughout from booking to the end of the stay. They went above & beyond to make sure we got everything we needed and were comfortable. Thank you Annie & Gary –your hospitality and attention to detail was exemplary! THE HOME is a beautiful 3-level lakehouse w/ wrap-around deck on the main level. Each level has 1 bedroom & 1 full bath. OUTSIDE: the home is surrounded by elegant tall trees, the lake is a short walk (minutes) from the house. There’s lots of acreage around the home so we relished the privacy, peace & quiet, and took leisurely walks around the woods– great after all the Thanksgiving food. Also, there is an outdoor gas grill, pool & fire pit, but we didn’t enjoy these due to cold/wet weather. INSIDE: the home was spotless-clean, neat & bright. Our hosts welcomed us w/ bottle of red wine- we instantly felt at home. We loved that the main level had an open floor plan w/ glass sliding doors to let in sunlight and reveal the breath-taking view outside –you can clearly see & hear the lake from the front deck. THE KITCHEN: was fantastic, fully equipped w/ high end appliances, lots of non-stick cookware, dining/serving utensils, spice cabinet, general kitchen supplies– I mean, all we had to bring was our own food. We totally enjoyed cooking in it while family gathered around the kitchen island, or large dining table, for food & conversation. THE BEDS: very comfortable, including both sofa-beds –everyone slept well. The boat-beds in upstairs are larger than the pic shows, my nieces (5ft 10in) fit perfectly. Plenty of bed linen, extra comforters and general bathroom supplies were provided. Washer/dryer were available too. The strong WiFi was very useful, and multiple TVs, board games & reading material were all great for family amusement. The teens hooked up their Playstation to TV in basement. The air-hockey was so much fun, it became an Olympic event for the teens.…and maybe an eye-hand reflex test for the adults. Lol. Also, since the area is studded w/ VINEYARDS, we visited one <10 minutes away. Lovely! Next time we will definitely do a wine & food tour. Overall, we loved everything, it was a Thanksgiving to remember! We plan to visit in spring/summer!
