“It was a wonderful, yet too brief, one night stay. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Our meal in the informal dining/pub options was nourishing and delicious. The room was clean, large, and bright. We were able to get a room facing back garden and with views. A big pot of tea and a freshly pressed coffee were very nice at breakfast. Local walks on the moor, and to the quarry & rocks and were fab.”

“Helpful location for what we needed. Room was clean and reasonably well appointed with a couple of bottles of water. Shower was a little tricky to figure out what knob did which thing but otherwise fine. Food in the pub in the evening was ok, but didn’t come across as particularly home made. The brie wedges were no better than the ones you get in the supermarket for £1. Service was a little varied. Breakfast was OK but nothing special. I can see their market and it’s not me and that’s fine.”

“We travelled as a couple with our dog. From arrival all staff were very friendly and welcoming and explained local walks (with a map) that we could do with our dog. “This is a lovely old fashioned-feeling, quirky hotel with a great atmosphere. It is in a great location in the heart of Totnes. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and all our meals were tasty with decent portions. The staff members, without exception, were cheerful, helpful and welcoming. Parking is tight with there being only a small car park so other parking options may need to be considered before arrival.”
