![Just outside of Salen on the Isle of Mull in Scotland lies this group of broken down fishing boats. Boats that once sailed (or motored) proudly along the waters surrounding the island have outlived their usefulness and have been abandoned to their fate and to the elements. Such is the way of life. Even in their heydays, the boats still serve as a great subject in a wide variety of compositions. On this day, I happened to chance upon a great sunset but I can see this location as being equally appealing (in a foreboding sense of the word) during a foggy day. 

The dynamic range of the Nikon D750 has really amazed me - this is a single shot exposure with no filters and the camera could capture the entire scene without blowing up or under exposing any part of the scene. ![Just outside of Salen on the Isle of Mull in Scotland lies this group of broken down fishing boats. Boats that once sailed (or motored) proudly along the waters surrounding the island have outlived their usefulness and have been abandoned to their fate and to the elements. Such is the way of life. Even in their heydays, the boats still serve as a great subject in a wide variety of compositions. On this day, I happened to chance upon a great sunset but I can see this location as being equally appealing (in a foreboding sense of the word) during a foggy day. 

The dynamic range of the Nikon D750 has really amazed me - this is a single shot exposure with no filters and the camera could capture the entire scene without blowing up or under exposing any part of the scene.
