The fortress-like Hacienda Cerritos hotel stands on a headland above the northern end of the beach. It has welcomed celebrities such as actor Tommy Lee and legendary surfer Kelly Slater. Visitors can access the hotel’s terrace restaurant, which doubles as a superb whale-watching location. Humpbacks pass by from October to January and return in April.
