"Property and staff excellent. Was going to be charged £20 for early check in. I challenged this, and it was revoked. I asked if we could get in if the room was ready. It was ready and left a sour taste in my mouth that they were going to charge extra for this. If that hadn’t happened, it would have been 5 stars all round because the rest was brilliant. Would recommend "

"Great location, right across the street from the train station. Nice attention to little details, including slippers, arrival with champagne, free mini bar/snacks is nice change from other hotels. Only issue was the handicap shower, my mistake picking that room and they wanted to charge more to change it. Never had issue before but this set up got the entire bathroom and all your belongings wet, not ideal. "

"I loved everything about the hotel and staff! They greeted us with a warm smile and hello from the moment we arrived and every time they saw us throughout our stay. The hotel is so interesting, unique, beautifully decorated, and has great guest accommodations. They provided a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, towels, hand towels, wash cloths, robes, slippers, bar soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, liquid hand soap, shower cap, razor, toothpaste and toothbrush, bottled water, sparkling water, tea set-up, coffee set-up and caramel/chocolate bars. There’s also a full mini-bar and the prices were the most reasonable I’ve ever seen. They also had plenty of power outlets and many standard USB ports. They brought a bucket of ice upon request. The beds were very comfortable and I give the pillows a solid B+ rating. We travel a LOT and most hotels, even the nice ones, have garbage pillows. Housekeeping did an Excellent job keeping our room stocked and tidy. They came twice a day, which I love. It’s nice coming back after walking 20k steps to a clean room with dim lights and curtains pulled. They also have a direct line to a local cab company at the front door, so grabbing a cab is a breeze. The restaurant, Eve, was delicious! We ordered it as room service for dinner one night. Needless to say, our stay was very comfortable and I would highly recommend it for the amenities, exceptional guest service, as well as location. We will return!"

"Comfy, modern and quiet rooms. Clean and updated shower/bathroom. The property is tucked away surrounded by idyllic gardens and picturesque vistas with castle-like buildings nearby. Very convenient bus stop down the street. Top-notch staff are attentive and there's a chic bar area for a night cap."

"We walked to hotel from Waverley Rail station was 30 min walk. Get a taxi if got cases and bags. Lovely walk otherwise to Princes street. Can walk to town centre by side of river through Leith Gardens. Lovely walk. Hotel staff were quick to book us in. room was lovely, big, clean, tea coffee milk biscuits. Shower, hair and soap in bathroom. Shower curtain was spotlessly clean. Lovely big soft towels. We were overlooking the river which was nice. We had a very pretty lounge next to our room. Staff were very friendly and on hand for any questions or replenishment of room stuff. Didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment on that but smelt lovely when walking through main lobby. Would recommend this hotel, if able to walk okay but if unsteady on feet you would need to get a taxi ( plenty about) as hotel is down a very steep curvy road from main road to hotel at side of river. "
