Stayed 2 nights for a spartan race on the property. After checking in we were sent to the guest services to pickup our parking pass and resort info. The girl at the counter immediately started off with stating that because we stayed here for two nights, we get another two nights for free at later date this year. Nothing in writing. The girl at the counter asked what time my races were and I told her. She said that they have a nice breakfast buffet that Saturday morning. It's only a $20 deposit to reserve it and that after the breakfast the staff would show us around the property. We would also get a $250 voucher to use during our stay.
Fast forward to race day before the breakfast. I checked my account and was actually charged $50. In the pile of paperwork the girl gave me, it stated that a $20 deposit would be refunded in the form of a visa gift card........ Not gonna attend this breakfast deception.
I called the guest services line and talked to someone and explained the situation. I then asked outright if this was a timeshare pitch because that was never disclosed to me. Of course I couldn't get a straight yes or no answer. Typical beat around the bush answer. Thankfully she refunded it back to my card so I didn't have to dispute it through VISA.
Also, almost everything at the "resort" costs extra to do.
Poor maintenance and nothing within walking distance. The staff is burnt out and miserable. I have a lot more to say but they limit the length of the review

The bed was extremely comfortable!
They should note the fireplace does not work! It has remote candles that don’t even flicker Daniel their AI said the fireplace was gas. There was only 1 wine glass. A friend stopped in for dinner had to eat on the couch as only two table chairs. The pictures show the wood floods as worn and they are. Be nice if they sanded down and refinished. Love resort is more for the name of the town vs being a romantic place to slip away too. We did have fun and wife said she would go back their again

"The room was clean and tidy. We needed batteries for the TV remote (handled by matenaince) and the TV was blue (a new room was offered, but was not needed). We could have used larger beds (they were full-sized) and the newer mattresses slid on the new bases. We could have used another chair or two ..."

"They were very accommodating with an early check in. Disappointed that the whirlpool is no longer available and is still listed as an amenity. We were told we would have free parking but it was not offered when we asked about it. Beautiful lobby and delicious breakfast for a fair price."

"It would have been great to have a dining room so we could have enjoyed dinner on premises. Otherwise it was all very special and a unique inn. We may be back."
