Things that were positive: the pool has the best rooftop pool and the view is amazing. The location is very close to the main parts within the romantic zone with walking distance to bars, shops and the Malecon. The decor is quite nice in most suites - my friends booked at the same spot and their rooms were very nice. There’s also a cafe on the first floor that has some amenities like coffee, smoothies and muffins that are available in the morning in case you want to have breakfast at the property. That said, there are several things to know about the Maxwell also known as SoHo PV. These are suites that are individually owned and rented out. My AC was barely working and they couldn’t move me because I had rented that particular suite. Also, the one I rented said ocean view which I paid more for but it really wasn’t. The Check in process was a nightmare as well as the people at the front desk can’t help with anything - you need to work with the concierge service directly. This meant having phone access outside of Wi-Fi. We waited for a long time between texts and when issues arose including the power going out in my unit which took them a long time to respond to. I was able to get a partial credit for the many inconveniences but honestly I would’ve much preferred to just move rooms but they really weren’t able to accommodate anything. For what I paid I would stay somewhere else. The inconveniences with the property outweighed the benefits.
