Very clean hotel. Walking distance to malls. Fun activities in/out of pool all day. Super friendly staff. Food was very good. Would definitely go back.

Stay Away.... Other Hotels Are Better

Terrible staff that act miserable. Front desk reception was nice but waiters, waitresses, and Bell-hops are not friendly. Small pools. Food is average at best and only a couple restaurants of which you must stand in line to make restaurant reservations except Buffet which is worse than Carnival. We actually stayed at Hyatt Zalara the night before and Paradisius after. Both are of high quality. Obviously the Zalara was high priced but service impeccable. The Paradisus was great and only about $40-50 more a night. Food was great with lots of restaurant options at Paradisus and Zalara as well as the pools were incredible so book somewhere else other than Barcelo. Barcelo is like a Spring Break hotel with lots of pool noise and noisy hallways. Go somewhere else other than Barcelo.

Pros: La habitacion y ubicacion
Cons: El area de playa poner parasol no creo que con las palmeras vayan a solucionar eso, poner un mini bar en la playa y la parillada
Location: cruzando una calle del hotel esta una plaza comercial donde puedes encontrar desde una Soriana hasta tiendas de marca
Me decepciono mucho este hotel no se compara con los demas barcelos que he conocido... no hay parasol para poder estar en la playa recostada en los camastros, el servicio de bebidas en la playa en casi nulo, no hay snack en la alberca ni playa, no hay variedad de alimentos en los restaurant, la parrillada deberian ponerla todos los dias para que complemente los snack que tanto hacen falta, ya que casi siempre habia gente molesta haciendo fila en los restaurant porque son muy pequeños no se disfruta el TODO INCLUIDO como debe ser; en cuanto a la habitacion estubo muy bien...LO MEJOR el show de MICHAEL JACKSON

Good Location.

My AC didn't work for 3 days. After numerous complaints they switch my room to different one. Our parents had the same problem but we gave up complaining. Food was lousy. The same thing over and over again. Very few choices. The staff was good and helpful. Be careful they're trying to trick and sell some time share or membership with their chain. They never returned my $10 for the invitation. However there was a lady in the lobby named MARI CANO who tried the best to accommodate our needs. Thank you MARI CANO. Otherwise I don't recommend this hotel

really friendly, especially the lady which serves the drinks to the beach. Some of the personal should learn the basics of English bc not only Spanish speaking people are visiting this place. I loved it. Its so beautiful and I will come again. The food was really good and always different. I loved the Michael Jackson show it was amazing.

Nice hotel, close to beach and mall

Pros: The staff and bartenders are very friendly and are willing to help you.
Cons: The drinks need to be improved as the frozen fruity drinks are made with syrups and no actual fruit.
Location: The things nearby include a mall which has a good gift shop, where you can get all your gift needs. If you need water shoes go to the mall.
The hotel staff was amazing made you feel at home. almost everything was included in the all inclusive expect for Lobster and bottle wine at the restaurants. The bedding in the room had stains on the sheets and covers that were very noticeable upon entering the room. The mini bar only had pop, water, beer, candy bar and some nuts. The beach is nice and you can get drink service while sitting on the beach. There is a gift shop in the mall which I recommend as there is a good selection of gifts at a reasonable price. For breakfast and lunch they only offer buffets and for dinner there are only to places you can make reservations at. The restaurants that need reservations is Mexican and Seafood. I would highly recommend doing the Mexican restaurant.

Close to the beach, but!

Pros: Staff was exceptional
Cons: Try to get a chef that knows how to plan meals, as a chef I was not impressed!
Location: The mall and shopping was within 100 yards.
The only thing good about the facility is the staff was very friendly and helpful, always there when needed. The food was bland, when I asked for jalapeno peppers in my eggs she stated that they did not have any, Mexico and no jalapeno peppers! Every day the only good meal was the breakfast buffet. Same meals over and over, bland chicken, tough beef roasts, dry pork roast. They had Asian night on my last day and it was fantastic.
