We just stumbled upon this really cool car show, it turned out to be the 8th annual covered bridge festival car show. It is a great family event; there were venders, craft tents, a bounce house, mini pedal tractor pulls for the kids, and plenty of different cars from about every era. #Cars #Carshow #Michigan #PureMichigan #Kidsfun
Langley Covered Bridge is the longest remaining wooden covered bridge in the state of Michigan, and is located several miles north of Centreville, Michigan, the seat of St. Joseph County. Many of the covered bridges in Michigan and other states no longer exist, and therefore the structure is an historic landmark and tourist attraction frequented by visitors to St. Joseph County. The bridge is named for Thomas W. Langley and family, pioneers who helped establish the village of Centreville in the mid-19th century. In fact, Langley was the very first settler in Centreville. The red-paneled bridge, along with a causeway just to its north that forms part of Covered Bridge Road, spans the St. Joseph River. The bridge was constructed in 1887 by nearby Parkville builder Pierce Bodmer. It does this just above what is called the Sturgis Dam (although the city of Sturgis, Michigan is located nowhere near this location). The dam is adjacent to a county recreation area called Covered Bridge Park; just across the river within sight of the bridge is Pahl Point Park, which is in fact closer to the bridge itself. Started in 1851, the St. Joseph County Grange Fair has grown to become one of the premier fairs in the State of Michigan. The fair features major grandstand events, 4-H and grange exhibits and shows, and a variety of other activities and events on the 150 acre fairgrounds. Deluxe room was in overall good condition. However, the heating unit was dusty and each time the heat came on, it had a musty smell and caused me to cough. The shower water heater also had temperature control issues, with the water being just over lukewarm and never getting hot enough.

The room was great! nice size , comfortable bed, 2 recliners small refrigerator even a microwave; the only thing that wasn't good was that the heater kept coming on and off all night and was very loud Hard to get to sleep.

Great spot! The pool , games , setup were great for a large group! Fast response time for Hottub issue- within minutes someone was there and it was fixed ! Would definitely rent it again. Beds were comfortable as well and fully stocked kitchen

This is a cool little town... As the former home and burial site of the famous magician, Harry Blackstone, Sr. (The Great Blackstone), Colon refers to itself as "The Magic Capital of the World." It is the home of the Abbott Magic Company, founded by magicians Percy Abbott, an Australian and friend of Blackstone's, and Recil Bordner, originally from Eaton, Ohio, in 1934. The company has a local store, showroom and a factory where magicians' supplies and new tricks are manufactured. Abbott Magic is well-known among professional stage acts, with customers around the world. Two other younger magic suppliers also call Colon their home, FAB Magic and the Sterlini Magic Manufacturing Company. Each August more than 1,000 magicians and lovers of magic gather there for "Abbott's Magic Get-Together", a 4 day magic convention, doubling the population, sharing magic tricks, and recollecting their knowledge of the famous occupation. The convention concludes each day with an evening show at Colon High School. Colon is a village in St. Joseph County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,227 at the 2000 census. The village is located within Colon Township. The village is named after the shape of Palmer Lake, and is not the only place in Michigan so named. Colon also has a small Amish community. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.7 square miles (4.4 km2), of which, 1.4 square miles (3.6 km2) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.78 km2) of it (18.71%) is water.
