First time using a hostel. I was very bumbling, but walking there from Union Station was easy; as an afab person, the surroundings did not feel dangerous. The room was comfortable, simple, easy, with a shower and toilet in easy access and some nice things thrown in (a hair dryer, for one.) The free breakfast was simple, but the coffee was nice and overall it was filling, with a nice view of the towering buildings while you eat. I've stayed here numerous times and I can't say enough about the owner, Brendan. Super friendly and committed to making your stay feel like home away from home. His staff is wonderfully personable, the building is well maintained and the spread in the morning is simple, efficient, and awesome. I've recommended numerous friends to this place and and will continue doing so. Just a really well managed and operating hostel in every sense. Value is great but the service and quality is top notch.

My train was delayed by 9 hours so instead of arriving at 430 pm it was 130 am. The gentleman stayed just for my arrival of which I was so grateful as a solo female traveler. He was welcoming and kind for this weary traveler and even said "have to keep the kids safe" when I thanked him. Very kind. Rooms clean. Bathrooms clean. A great place to stay!

It's a hostel. One shared bathroom between 4 rooms. Small bedrooms. But really all you need. The steps to get in are very steep. Cleaning crew did a great job keeping towels and toilet paper stocked. They cleaned the common areas daily. Location was walkable and safe with lots of food options nearby. Kitchen was nice.
