Log Cabin w/ Picturesque Mtn View. Private Sunsets. Hot Tub. Kid & Dog Friendly

This is a picturesque log cabin that sits high atop Renegade Mountain on the Cumberland Plateau in Eastern Tennessee. Seek refuge in this cozy, secluded, romantic, and well equipped 2 Bedroom plus loft log cabin located in Crab Orchard Tennessee. Renegade Mountain is a private community located approximately 1 hour West of Knoxville, 2 hours East of Nashville, and 1.5 hours North of Chattanooga. The cabin is at 2650 feet altitude. We are centrally located for many major vacation destinations in the Southeast. Located just 5 miles off of I-40, you are only minutes away from Crossville, Fairfield Glade, Catoosa Wildlife Preserve, Lake Tansi, Cumberland Mountain State Park, Bear Trace, state parks, wineries, and antique shops (127 Yard sale in August of 50+ miles) and specialty stores in the Crossville area. Walking trails abound just outside our front and back doors. Bring your fishing poles and head to Cumberland Mountain Park. The lake is full of Bass, Bluegill, and Catfish. In the winter, they stock the lake with Trout. See TNWildlife.org for licensing. There are 20 waterfalls within a two hour drive of the cabin. Ozone Falls is less than five miles away. There are more than 10 great public golf courses. Crossville is the "Golf Capital of Tennessee". Check out Fairfield Glade and Lake Tansi for more info on golf. We highly recommend the spectacular views from Mt. Roosevelt Overlook (right off of HWY 70) and Black mountain. Black Mountain overlooks are a short, easy hike. Pigeon Forge and Dollywood are 1 1/2 hours away. There are plenty of off-road motorsport trails. Don't forget your camera, there are lots of opportunities for landscape and wildlife photography. Coming summer of 2024: Flatrock Motorsports Park is expected to open in Westel. The park will hold world-class races, music festivals, along with a winery and brewery. This track is only 11 miles from the cabin. Check out Flatrock Motorsport on Facebook for progress. The Tail of the Dragon (318 curves in 11 miles) is 2 hrs from the cabin.

Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin with loft sleeps 6. Plus there is a pack-n-play for toddlers and infants. It has a well furnished kitchen with a gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, a kitchen bar for dining (no formal dinning room), and a cozy and comfortable den with a gas log fireplace, and 50' flat screen TV. There's also a flat screen TV for each of the bedrooms and loft. Bedroom windows provide beautiful mountain views. The master bedroom has a queen bed on the main floor and a second bedroom with a king bed upstairs. Each bedroom has an adjoining full bath. The open loft area overlooking the den can sleep 2 additional guests on a daybed with trundle. A jogger stroller and infant seat with tray are also available on premises.

The private and shaded rear porch runs the full width of the house and faces West with a magnificent view of neighboring Black Mountain during every season of the year (excepting the occasional foggy day). The very private 6 person hot tub is off the back porch and provides the same view. Nothing like watching the sun set behind the neighboring mountain or therapy under the stars from the comfort of the hot tub. Enjoy rocking, reading, resting, watching wildlife, listening to the blue birds at sunrise and whippoorwills after sunset. You can also Swing in one of the old lift chairs from the former Renegade Mountain Ski Resort as you take in the magnificent view. At night you can roast marshmallows and make Smore's around the fire pit. There are horseshoes and cornhole games for the competitive types. This is truly a four season getaway. There are plenty of outdoor activities during warm weather months, but cool Autumn days can be breath taking during the changing of the foliage. One can also spend snowy winter days by the fireplace with loved ones creating memories.

There is a full size washing machine and dryer, iron and ironing board. The cabin has central heat and cooling, so you will always be comfortable. AC is rarely needed, since summertime temperatures on the top of Renegade Mountain are generally at least 10 degrees cooler than in Nashville, Knoxville, or Chattanooga, and the humidity is also much lower.

There is high speed wireless Internet, a computer, and multi-function printer, All TV's have a separate DVD player. Wi-Fi calling is preferable as cell phone service is spotty, especially AT&T. The computer has over 8000 songs cataloged in i-Tunes play lists for your enjoyment. Genres include classical, pop, instrumental, 50's, 60's. 70's - 90's and country.

The doors have Keypad locks, so check-in is easy. You may arrive and enter regardless of the hour (after 4:00 PM Central ST). Normal checkout time is 11:00 AM CST. There are two steps from the parking area to the porch and one step from the porch into the cabin. There is one step down from the cabin to the rear porch and six steps down from the rear porch to the ground. The cabin is NOT considered handicap accessible. If this is a problem for your stay, please cancel as soon as possible without penalty.
UPDATE *2024*
This is a non-smoking cabin, this includes no burning candles (except birthday candles), incense or sage inside. Vaping, cigarettes and cigars outside only please. There are cans with sand on the porches for the butts. DO NOT throw cigarette butts into the woods. We also most lost the cabin to a forest fire in the fall of '23.. Dogs are welcome if they are well behaved, up to date on all shots and medicines, and certified flea free. There is a leash law in TN, please do not let dogs roam off the property. Please clean up after your dogs. Absolutely no other kind of pets allowed.

Cute Cabin
Cute and clean place that was well stocked. We had a bad storm which took out the electricity and owners were kind enough to reach out to see if we needed anything. Ozark Falls is 15-20 minutes away. Beautiful waterfall that is a must see!

What a wonderful, quiet, and serene lovely stay. The hosts did a wonderful job to make the stay very delightful with all the added extras. It was a far distance from the city, so be prepared to relax and enjoy the lovely views.

Very comfortable cabin with a beautiful view.
My partner and I wanted a nice quiet weekend away from work and life. This place was perfect in every way. The view is beautiful and the cabin is very comfortable. The owners have thought of it all. Down to an amazing play list of music. Cannot wait to visit again.
