This property is very dated and there was no property manager on the premises when I arrived and when I checked out. The room was extremely small and very dated. However, the room was clean considering the age of the motel. If you are looking for a very low expectation motel for a night to stay near Mackinaw City, then this property may suit your needs.

Although ‘soap’ was included in the bathroom, no shower soap, nor shampoo, was available….handsoap only. This unit is probably OK for a single traveler, but not for couples. Cheap furnishings and poor craftsmanship of finish work…trim, flooring, paint, etc. No air conditioning…just a small ceiling fan, with the pull-chain out of reach to adjust the speed. Regular size bed was mattress only, no box springs. Price was unreasonable for this property. Not impressed and will not return.

I stayed at the Crown Choice Inn & Suites in Mackinaw City and it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. The exterior looks pleasant enough, but that’s where the positives end. Getting to our room felt like navigating a maze through a building that looked like it could fall apart any day — the structure felt genuinely unsafe. The room itself was untidy and clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned. They advertise the “largest indoor water park,” but it was tiny and the floors around it were filthy. The water itself was so cold our kids refused to get in — a huge letdown for a water park that’s supposedly the main draw of this hotel. There’s a dining area, but no breakfast was actually offered, despite what’s implied. Worst of all was the front desk staff. The receptionist was rude throughout our stay, and when she found out we were considering cancelling, her attitude got even worse — she then filed a report to Expedia about us, seemingly in retaliation.

We loved the view on patio. But all we heard at night was upstair stomping. Then it picks back up at 6am. Tough nights sleep. Breakfast was great. With coffee and water available! Staff nice. Very tidy and clean except amount of duck poop. Bar and restaurant and beach great!! Again staff very nice!

Room was big but beds pretty tight by the wall. Location was great. Bathroom needed work: door was binding, floor felt like it was giving way, bad dark spot by tub floor, not sure if black mold but it wasn’t good. Tv/internet was down but it was down all over the night we stayed. Nice to have coffee maker in the room. Bed was comfy, it was quiet (Weds. Eve). Staff let us stay parked there while we went to Mackinac Island. We would stay again.
