Expedia let me down with this one...Posted Feb 4, 2016
Pros: the location
Cons: Everything except the location
Location: location was great; plenty to do within walking distance;
I have traveled for years and the LaPlaya in Daytona Beach is definitely in the top three of the worst places I have ever stayed. I experienced the following problems: one elevator for a nine-story building with waits of up to ten minutes; filthy floors in all walking areas; holes in the window drapes; charges for resort fees to be able to use the pool and hot tub, which were both bottom-covered in sand; beat-up plastic chairs for balcony seats; doors that didn't seal and left light shining around the perimeter; unbelievably loud room neighbors that took a threat on my part to call the police to stop their extremely loud cursing, yelling, screaming, and throwing chairs off the balcony on the 8th floor; bath towels so small they would be hand towels in my home; construction on a nearby room or building section that started early in the morning; and the list could go on. I booked this room through Expedia's special promotions of unpublished rates, but never again.

Cheap on the waterfront!Posted Jan 9, 2016
Pros: pet friendly, ocean front, parking was good, suite had good layout, and price was very good.
Cons: gut the rooms and refurbish
Location: beach and Daytona strip
Hotel is dated, they are doing work but price reflects age. Great end suite with awesome balcony on ocean front. Pet friendly which was crucial. Staff was very helpful and did a great job of keeping the place as nice as possible.

Over all was a great experience, we did check in on new years eve and had to wait till after 5 for our room to be ready, but Latoya was very nice at the front desk, we would stay again

La Playa ResortPosted Jan 7, 2016
Pros: right on the beach, the staff was great
Cons: needs to be updated
doors rusty, towels were frayed and very thin, had a kitchen but did not provide any cookware, gave you one packet of shampoo, outdated TV

LaPlaya is old and tired.Posted Jan 5, 2016
Pros: It was on Daytona Beach.
Cons: ALL OF IT!!!
There is not enough staff at LaPlaya. I waited 20 mins both times that I had to go to the front desk. Trash barrels were overflowing in the parking lot, had to walk through trash by the door to get to our room. No one cleaned our room, someone knocked on the door after 9:00 pm. and asked if she could get us anything, yeah, towels, thanks. Trying to save on payroll is always a bad idea...Could be a nice place since it is right on the beach, but with no staff, it will continue to be awful.

Good hotel to stay at if you are on a budget.Posted Jan 4, 2016
Overall experience was ok, some of the staff were very nice and easy to work with. Aside from the odd drywall damage and poor building materials not being maintained. It seems the maids do keep the rooms fairly clean. Would I go here again? Probably not, but if you are just young and going to party, this place is a good option. Good location.

rediculousPosted Jan 3, 2016
Cons: new managment
This hotel should removed from your reservation list, They are so dysfunctional; check in time at four PM rooms were not ready had to wait, the brochure showed restaurant and all amenities were opened ( all closed) they did have a buffet New Years morning and all the food was cold ( no heat in the eggs, beacon, potatoes....surprise the coffee was hot. I will not recommend the hotel to any one en cluing my dog and discourage anyone thinking about saying there. the staff was unapologetic and really had a care less attitude about the twenty five people standing in there lobby waiting for rooms.....,,
