The Oxford provides the classic beauty of a historic hotel with the awesome amenities of downtown Denver! Hotel staff made sure my parents had an amazing time on their surprise anniversary stay. They even provided chilled champagne for their special day :)

Wonderful "Staycation" for Denver Metro resident

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: Location, service, sense of warm, friendly, opulence.
I live about 30 minutes outside Denver, and wanted a pleasant place for a short break. I chose the Oxford partly because my Elite points gave me a hefty discount, and partly because I took the bus into the city, so I could avoid the hassle (and cost!) of a car. The hotel is barely a block from Union station, and that worked out splendidly. The rooms are old, but excellently maintained, tastefully modernized (I think they probably knocked two into one at some point) and very nicely furnished. The place has a very grand feel to it, while remaining friendly. As you'd expect there's an easy, confident, excellence to the service. The staff manage that while being very warm and friendly. I particularly appreciated the shuttle car service. Free for residents within a two mile radius. Book it on a first come basis, but I had no trouble getting to the wedding I was attending (the primary reason I decided to take a little break) and back again at midnight. A $5 tip was much cheaper than a cab would have been I think, and the ride much more elegant :)

A historic staff at a unique hotel

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: Historic, elegant, quiet and comfortable
Cons: nothing
Location: Steps away from Union Station 7 Morton's steakhouse. 1 block from 16th St mall, cpl blocks from Coors field. JAX fshhouse across st
This hotel from the 1800's was such a splendid get-a-way that added a unique experience from other commercial hotels. From the moment that we stepped in the front door, we were greeted by historic elegance in a very clean, well kept and comfortable hotel. The room key is a real key on a old school tassel. To top things off, the hotel is connected to the McCormick and Smick's restaurant. Known for great fish. Note - a great happy hour!!!

Pros: Very nice (but unpretentious) historic hotel
Cons: Everything was great
Location: Right in the center of everything in LoDo
Very nice (but unpretentious) historic hotel less than half a block from the beautifully renovated and very lively Denver Union Station. Close to all transportation and many restaurants, pubs, and good bookstores.

Pros: Location, charm, great staff
Cons: Rooms are small and pricey. We had no shampoo in the shower and no Kleenex.
Location: Bars and restaurants within walking distance. 16th street mall and Larimer Square
The hotel is extremely charming with great walkability to the entire downtown area.
