“Only stayed for one night but will certainly be back, the hotel is an old coaching inn from the 1800’s and if you are looking for a bland, anonymous place it’s not for you, quiet, friendly, warm and comfortable with character and quirks, my room had a 10” thick mattress ( i’m sad, i measured it ) with very good quality bedding that gave me a superb night’s sleep and even a settee to lounge on while i watched the good sized tv, views out of my windows were of Lickey forest. The kitchen was not...

"The hotel is oozing of old world charm, but the location its clearly not what it was during its high day. Cathedral Square after dark can best be described as a ghetto and we took long de-tours to avoid the area, but the hotel is situated only 100 yards from the before mentioned square. Trying to smoke a cigarette outside was simply impossible due to the sometimes aggressive beggars that always floats around. A few details, such as not getting the room cleaned until 5.20pm, broken window locks which meant the windows couldn't be sealed and poor English from reception staff also drags down the overall score"

"Arrived at about 2.30 told to wait until 3 before having our which was fair enough, however people arrived a few minutes after us and were given rooms immediately. Couldn't leave our lugfage for a couple of hours on checkout but people checking in early could leave their luggage which baffled me to be honest."
