“You don't stay in Arenal for the area around the B&Bs. You go to Arenal because it's funky and quiet and friendly . We return to Casa Donna Rosa for the welcoming owners and most of all for the fantastic breakfast preparations. I have only been gone one day and I miss their breakfasts already. Home baked Challah in think hunks with baked crisp finish the their french toast...yumm even before you try adding the smear of preserves. Great Costa Rican coffee is served with pots of wam milk. ”

“I can't say enough for what a great time we had at Kakao Lodge. I was skeptical at first since I usually like staying in my chain hotels that provide all the normal American comforts. But after staying here, my mind has totally changed. You can't describe how awesome it is to be able to see a half dozen different species of exotic frogs at night, or a sloth while eating breakfast, or tropic birds singing to you in the morning. And don't forget about breakfast. Everyday, we had homemade to order……

“Eine wirklich sehr schöne Unterkunft, mit tollem Ausblick. Die Betten waren bequem und es gab eine kleine Küche. Das Frühstück war das Beste auf unserer bisherigen Rundreise. Der Besitzer bringt jeden Abend einen Mix aus verschieden Essen. Sehr abwechslungsreich und richtig lecker. Bei uns gab es von traditionellen Frühstück bishin zu Sandwiches, overnight oats, Obst, Semmeln, Toastbrot, Marmelade, Joghurt, Milch… echt top. Der Besitzer ist super lieb und gab uns Tipps für Unternehmungen. Also……

“The property is so quaint and so cute! It is close to restaurants, fruit, market, Rio, Celeste, and other coffee tours and sloth tours. Beautiful space, host responds quickly and the bathroom is stunning. Great choice!”

“The room was clean and spacious. The property is amazing with nature trails right outside your cabin and a beautiful garden with a talking parrot. The hotel/restaurant also has a few chickens and a turkey. The food at the restaurant was so authentic and some of the best food we ate in Costa Rica. I definitely recommend the tilapia. We ate at the restaurant for 3 of the 4 meals that we had when we were in the area because of how good and convenient it was. Would definitely recommend to anyone……

“We had a great time at the property. It is a family owned property, very well maintained and managed. The whole family very amicable and friendly. Uncle gave us a free night tour in his garden which was really sweet and informative. Loved the breakfast aunty prepared. Only drawback is the road to property is broken however nothing can match to the great hospitality! Me and wife had a great experience and would recommend everyone to opt for stay at Jardin if you want have an experience of homely……

“My wife and I loved this property. 3 adults and 2 children in our group. If you are okay with simple accommodations with great service and beautiful scenery you have to stay here. Grounds were immaculate when we arrived and we were greeted with 2 Toucans as we headed to our cabin. Tons of hummingbirds flying around. This place just felt so full of life! The hikes on the property were great. Took my 77yr old dad to the waterfall. He had no issues. We were the only ones there our first……

Communication facile en tout temps, possibilité de commander facilement dans les restau du coin avec livraison à la porte. Stationnement à la porte. Patio avec petit frigo, mais sans possibilité de faire cuire ou chauffer de la nourriture. ”

“The location was perfect for seeing Rio Celeste and other rainforest tours. Everyone was really friendly and the food was great. Communication was somewhat interesting because I hadn’t brushed up on my Spanish enough but we made it work! The bed wasn’t super comfortable, shower didn’t get very hot and the walls weren’t exactly soundproof but for the price it was still a good value. I’d definitely stay here again!”

“Super belle expérience. Pas trop loin de la civilisation et Rio Celeste (15 minutes) pour une tranquillité parfaite. Les douches sont superbes et il y a tout pour cuisiner et passer un bon moment en famille. Le chemin d'accès est très abrupte et nécessite un 4x4 ou SUV, nous avons eu une crevaison.”
