“Very quaint and historic property in the heart of Monnickedam. The room was lovely. Old world with modern fixtures. Just FYI, no elevator so request ground floor if you need to. I enjoyed my stay very much. The staff was very nice and helpful. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Short walk to the bus that can take you to Volendam or Amsterdam within 20 minutes”

Notre hôte était très accueillante et sympathique, elle parle plusieurs langues ce qui facilite les échanges.L appartement était très propre, bien équipé, les chambres spacieuses, la seule petite difficulté, serait peut-être les 2 escaliers assez raides, à monter avec les valises pour accéder aux chambres à l étage, pour des personnes qui auraient du mal avec les escaliers. ”

“We had a wonderful stay with Deep and Julie on their Catermeran. We enjoyed some wonderful sailing and anchored near an Island for the night. We had a lovely evening sharing stories over dinner and watching the sun go down! I was impressed how warm and cosy the boat was and how well we all slept! Waking up surrounded by nature and beautiful scenery in the morning was very special and we enjoyed basking up the sunshine before setting sail. It was a great adventure for both children and adults……

“This was advertised as a 1500 Apartment with 2 bedrooms. It's a storage unit that they added 2 toilets too. There are no windows, the toilets extractor fans did not work and the host tried to order a new extractor fan on about the 27 of April 2026. The lights/globes in the place were also inadequate and had to go buy a 75 W globe in order to see anything in the kitchen. The second bed was a SOFA BED and the last time I had to sleep on a sofa bed was 40 years ago. ”

“We spend a week in this very charming town. The house has the best location and getting into downtown Amsterdam is a breeze on the bus. Across the house are wonderful restaurants. You will either love or hate the quarterly bell chimes from the beautiful bell tower across the water :) ”

“Lovely accommodations close to bus route. The village and the residents we met were welcoming. Klaas and Marianna are gracious hosts and made our arrival easy through detailed check-in steps and directions. The included breakfast set us off on the right foot as we headed into the city central area. Fully recommend. ”

“I can't begin to describe how lovely this cottage is. Located next to the hosts' home at the edge of town. The patio is right on the canal, beautiful and quiet, perfect place to enjoy a coffee or watch the birds. House is very cute and comfortable and the hosts were accommodating. Note that the washing machine is not in the cottage but is in the hosts' home - they very kindly washed a load of laundry for us and hung it out to dry. The bikes were a fantastic inclusion to help us explore the area……

Das Haus bietet alles was man braucht und erwartet.Die Lage ist ruhig, und Monnikendam in wenigen Minuten zu erreichen.Marieke und ihr Mann waren tolle Gastgeber, sodass man sich direkt willkommen fühlt.
