It reminds me of the inn from the movie Blackbeard’s Ghost in the best way. The property is lovely and feels like an adult sleep away camp. Our room in the lodge was very quaint but oh so comfortable. We loved having comfy robes and the Pendleton wool Filson blanket for our bed. The shared bathroom was well appointed and had everything we needed to get ready for the day. Because the rooms are small we took advantage of many of the seating areas around the inn to read, drink coffee, and hang out (including the outside ones facing the water. We’re excited to sit around a fire outside in our next trip. We enjoyed the complimentary s’mores in the great room on arrival and dinner in the restaurant was excellent - many options for every palate. We couldn’t decide between the rhubarb tart, carrot cake or earl grey ice cream with shortbread for dessert so chose all three. Highly recommend. Overall, this experience is just that - an experience. Creaky floors, small staircases, old windows, and thin walls. That’s the charm of staying somewhere that’s authentic and over 100 years old. The added bonus is the wonderful staff, the general store espresso bar with lovely gifts, the sauna, the location, the views, and the attention to detail around the property. I can’t wait to return."
