“We liked the mission of the hotel. The grounds were lovely. The view from the room spectacular. The restaurant staff was nice and the food looked good. The farm stands was good. The hotel was old as expected so not surprised it had a funky smell. The room needed a good deep cleaning, think black cobwebs and thick dust on the cobwebs. The furniture was grubby and the pillows old, but the bed was comfortable. It’s still a reasonable option given the lack of choices in this area.”
“Room was clean enough. Not much on amenities. Had to go to the office for towels. They never checked anything in the room or replaced coffe or cups or emptied trash. Room did look out to the ocean. Convenient to town”
“We loved the caboose and the attention to detail. It was beautifully done. Loved the phonograph and old records. The only problem we had was in closing the outside door. It took many tries to get it to lock. It seemed the two connections were very hard to line up. But other than that it was a very great stay. So refreshing from the usual hotel/motel experience.”
“We arrived after midnight and knew in advance that no one would be at the front desk. Our room was left unlocked with the key on the table, which was fine. However, the condition of the room when we arrived was not acceptable, and because it was already past midnight, we had very few options for addressing it.
There was hair and fuzz on the pillows, and the entire room had an odd, musty smell. I probably would not have been as upset if this were a $100-a-night room, but we paid $277 a night.……
