New Owner - New Look!!!

Posted Mar 1, 2017
Pros: Centrally located in the Keys to explore the various islands and parks. Very reasonably priced for such a nice suite. The restaurant next door had goo
Cons: The pillows were too thick and stiff. Made it hard to sleep. Some hotels will have two different types on the beds.
Location: Short distance to Bahia Honda State Park for picnicking and snorkeling. The Dolphin Research Center is really a great experience.
We stayed here for 4 nights only 6 weeks after the new owner took over. He is fixing it up quickly. The suite was very comfortable and spacious. We had a full kitchen, very comfortable bed, and couch in the living room. The pillows were a little oversized for our taste (too thick). They might want to mix it up with a different type or brand. The room was clean and was freshly painted. Very fun décor for the island setting. There was no ice available when we first arrived, but the woman at front desk came up with a couple ice trays for the freezer and a bag of ice to get us started. (Very friendly service).

Not bad, not good

Posted Feb 27, 2017
Pros: Price, comfortable bed, quiet.
Cons: Internet very weak. Could be cleaner.
Location: Lot's of things to do near by.
Under new management. Ongoing renovation. Tractors and workers at facility however room was quiet and bed was comfortable. Not the best but priced accordingly.

Not as pictured online

Posted Feb 27, 2017
Pros: The beds were new which was a bonus but they were very poor quality
Cons: Clean the trash off the beach, paint the rooms
Location: Location was perfect...the only good part of our stay!
we were victims of the old 'bait and switch". The rooms were not as pictured and the grounds were in terrible condition. However, they have recently been bought out and are going through restorations. The price vs value is way off the charts. They need to lower their rates until they get further along in their renovations. The rooms, beaches and pools were filthy. We paid over $1500 for 3 nights and basically only got a clean bed to sleep in the first night. They do not change the linens or clean the bathrooms. I needed accommodations for 5 people in the middle Keys and there were no other options. I would be curios to see their rates once they finish fixing up the place...if they ever do. I would probably need to mortgage my house to stay there tho.

Wanted a stay in the beach

Posted Jan 31, 2017
We went by the pictures looking for a stay on the beach. The pictures were deceiving. There was no beach (tide was out so helped to looked horrible) the outside of building very run down and sketchy at night. The inside was like a 3 bedroom apartment that they had started renovating with new kitchens, baths ...still needed some work ie floor, kitchen handles, new blinds, few more basic items in kitchen. Okay for a sleepover but main reason was looking for a beach.
