"Its across the street from the beach. The majority of every room has a partial ocean view. Beach Chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards were available. The pool was warm for the evening swim. Overall, our family had a great time at the hotel. The hotel was close to everything restaurants, shopping, and the beach."

"This was a family vacation with our two young adult daughters. Loved the location-close to everything and hotel staff were always great-changing our second room from a king to a double to accommodate our girls.. Room was ocean view king and we were very happy. Very clean, with good storage space and a large bathroom. Our room 2267 only had a shower and no tub but our other room 3057 did have a tub/shower combo. We used the adult pool in the afternoon where service and food were excellent. FYI: The sun doesn't really reach this pool until about 10:30 am. We liked that they had an ice machine and free water station available. We really liked the chairs and boogey boards that came as part of the resort fee. We rented an umbrella and cooler and took ourselves to other beaches outside of Waikiki that are much less crowded (Waimanalo) and had a great time. We did not eat at any of the hotel restaurants other than poolside. We loved having the ABC stores right there to purchase breakfast items-which we stored in the mini fridge. This helped to keep some costs down, Valet was always quick when we needed. Our only criticism: They are doing balcony restoration which did not affect eithr of our rooms until a windy day. When the wind picks up it smacks the cables against the building all night and was quite loud and annoying with no way to remedy it. The resort is large and bustling, but we never felt overcrowded. We would stay her again."

"The Moana Surfrider is such a pleasure to stay at. When you're in Hawaii, you want an oceanfront property and the Moana has a great location on the strip. You're on the oceanfront so you can go to the beach any time you like, then take a dip in the pool after. Food and shopping are walking distance and there's plenty of places to go. Water is provided daily in your room and housekeeping is helpful, courteous, efficient, and friendly. Housekeeping will also refill the coffee pods and tea bags in your room as well that are also provided for free. There are three wings, the tower, banyan, and surfrider wings. We generally stay in the surfrider wing in an oceanfront room. The oceanfront rooms have a lanai with rocking chairs so that you can enjoy a coffee and the sunrise while overlooking the ocean and sleep to the sound of the crashing waves. Depending on which room you're in in the tower wing, you'll either get a a view of the sunrise, sunset, or both. The tower and surfrider wings have balconies/lanais if you have an ocean view room. The banyan wing does not provide either for any of the rooms. Towels are provided for the pool and the beach and you can also reserve an umbrella for the beach if you desire. All the staff at the Moana are friendly and helpful. We've stayed at three other hotels in Waikiki, but always go back to the Moana Surfrider."

"My only complaint is lack of beach, the hotel has a cool Hawaiian vibe and the rooms were decent, if you want the tourist experience this is the hotel for you."

"The best location and breakfast! There’s a lot of families traveling here with kids and yes the pool area is full of kids in both the pool and jacuzzi, but it summer time and families are on vacation. If you looking for more of a relaxing atmosphere I would suggest an all adult resort."
