Fantastic Views and Staff!Posted Nov 22, 2015
Pros: Nice, big rooms. Ocean front rooms with lounge chairs, chairs, hammock and Jacuzzi. Very comfortable to sit and watch the ocean from the room!
Cons: Water temperature in one of the rooms was hit-and-miss. The safe in one room never was able to be used, couldn't get it to work.
Location: This is a fishing village town. Sport fishing, beach lounging, swimming with the dolphins, and most important - relaxation!
The views and the beach are wonderful, and the hotel is very well maintained. The most impressive thing to me was the hotel staff however. From the front desk, Jose Luis and Carlos were always so pleasant and willing to help in any way they could. The restaurant staff were so very attentive, too. The only thing that would make things better would be if there were waiters that came up to the pool area more often to take orders, but that was a very minor inconvenience. The staff had great suggestions for activities and restaurants in the area - and they would readily call cabs for us. They would relay where we wanted to go to the cab drivers, as we don't speak Spanish. Couldn't have a better staff.

Wonderful Colonial rustic hotel, with a very good location near downtown, very clean with great staff. Also very relaxing because it is far from the touristy area.

Quaint, Rustic and Authentic with Amazing Views!Posted Aug 18, 2015 on Hotels
We LOVED this hotel! We wanted rustic and authentic and we got that but with the most awesome views and location and wonderful customer service. One of the few hotels directly on a beach in Zihuatanejo it comes with the price of many, many stairs to climb and while you don't get used to them as much as you might think, they pale in comparison to the beautiful views that you get from the upper levels and lobby. Carlos and Miguel were very helpful and informative. The restaurant onsite had great food and was almost always open. The location of the hotel is another great feature as you can easily walk alongside the shoreline to the town and back or take a cab for $30/35 (pesos) each way. Playa Las Ropa and Los Gatos are another quick cab ride away for a change of scenery and snorkeling. We went into Ixtapa twice during our week stay in Zihua for snorkeling and to visit their beach. There are also several eateries and restaurants nearby Aura Del Mar - We loved Casa Vieja (Ray was an amazing host - we felt like guests, not customers!) and Rubens Hamburgers lacked in service but was very tasty! In town we loved Casa Elvira(?) and Chuleto's. Also, there is a store across from this hotel that we stocked up on waters and drinks. We will certainly plan another trip to Zihau and we hope to find this hotel just as unaffected and charming as we left it and with Carola the parrot greeting us with her 'Hola!'

Great location to beach and townPosted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: The staff they were so kind and friendly.
Cons: AC in the restaurant. The pizza restaurant was so hot from the pizza oven it was unbearable with the 90 percent humidity in July.
Location: Great location. Get out on beach and eat at the local restaurants they are great. I never had a bad meal they were all fantastic.
Nice quaint hotel in middle of La Madera Beach, the hotel sits up on the short side of a mountain over looking the beach. Having said this there are steps everywhere I definitely would not recommend this hotel to someone who has trouble getting around or is out of shape. It's all downhill to the beach and all uphill stairs back. Town is very close by, it also is all downhill going and all uphill coming back to the hotel. The road coming back in front of hotel is about 30 yards straight up. You can take a taxi to town but the walk really is short and not too bad. Most places I have been in Mexico take dollars but you will need pesos when you go into town, you also will need to know some Spanish. The staff at the hotel speak great English but the restaurant servers and people in the market know very little. This would be a great place to do an emmersion program. Over all I was very satisfied and happy with this vacation.

Vacaciones increíbles¡¡¡Posted Jul 24, 2015 on Hotels
