"A small group of friends, myself, and my two dogs stayed here to watch the solar eclipse. The spacious backyard was the perfect place for eclipse viewing and the small town was close enough to Lake Placid for a morning shopping trip but far enough away to avoid the traffic. The house itself has GORGEOUS views, a relaxing hot tub (perfect for after a long hike), and a fully equipped kitchen. Overall it was the perfect home away from home to spend a long weekend."

"Our stay over Memorial Day weekend was excellent. The house suited our family more than adequately and the boys loved they all could move around easily, and of course the hot tub for after our mountain hikes. Location is great, close to everything, as well as hiking trails and has sidewalks. Everything was great, thank you!"

"If you look at the listing and say 'wow, this place sounds great!' then you're exactly right. We had a group of 13 for four nights, and it was the perfect place for us. Derek was an excellent host and answered all of our questions and gave some great recommendations. Only problem was that there were just too many fun things to do. Guess we'll just have to come back."

"We had a lovely time in this chalet in the woods. Everything was as described. Neighborhood was QUIET which is exactly what we were looking for. Close and easy drive to lake Placid for supplies. We thoroughly enjoyed the deck and the screened in porch was a very nice bonus. The cooking pots and pans could use updating - all are quite scratched up. Water pressure was good in shower. Communication with the host was terrific. Main bedroom is downstairs and as long as anyone staying upstairs is ok...

"Comfortable, high end furnishings and a quiet neighborhood. The home is lake side and we spent many hours out on the back deck. Shaded by an electric awning made afternoons a delight. Everything, from the bedding to the entertainment areas were super comfortable. My dealing with the host family felt like I was talking to my old neighbors. We found the surrounding towns to be places to visit again. Wasn't at all disappointed."

"It was cold during our stay and being right on top of the water there was a very large temperature gradient from the floor to ceiling. We had an infant sleeping in a pack n play on the floor and so it was necessary to blow a fan and move the air. The temp at the floor on our baby monitor was reading 61 while the heat in the room was set to 77. So be aware if you have an infant. Additionally the floor was bowing and popping up in many places. Likely due to extreme temperature swings or humidity....

"We only needed it for a short stay. In the winter. It was a short ride to lake placid. It was clean, heat worked, had hot water, enough rooms and beds to sleep in. Had all the basics to get by. Just no toaster. Would stay again. The only thing I can say didnt work well. Was the wifi. But it was nice to disconnect. Just Hard to reach our loved ones in the evenings and find local places to get things."
