"Yes, these rooms are above a pub but you can’t hear any noise. The appointments were like that of a luxury hotel. The staff worked behind the bar at the pub for the most part and they were extremely responsive to any request. Not sure many tourists find their way to this particular town, but if you’re anywhere near Scarborough, this is the place to stay."

"Quaint bed and breakfast hotel with lots of interesting period features. Ideally located in centre of town with parking and access to the lovely garden. There were magazines, and games to use, toiletries and sweets in room, good quality towels and bedding and breakfast was plentiful with great choices. A wonderful place for a few days in Pickering"

Overall great stay and highly recommended. Super easy to find and park. The room was clean, modern, and well presented. The owner even pre-reserved us a table for dinner, which was a welcome surprise since we were tired and extremely hungry. The food was amazing as well. All in all I would highly recommend.

I was traveling to the area alone and had chosen to stay here. I was greeted by a very friendly lady who I later discovered was the owner. The room was very clean a pretty with everything you needed. That evening I had a drink in the bar and the owners were so friendly and welcoming offering any assistance I may need. The breakfast was delicious and while I didn’t eat a meal there the menu looked great and very varied. I would definitely stay there again if I am in the area.

This property was so lovely. It was beautifully decorated and super comfortable. The attention to detail in every little bit of our stay (including the chocolate eggs left in our room when we stayed at Easter) was impressive and we felt welcomed and well-cared for by our hosts. Breakfast was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!

Very pleased with the accommodations, we had a cottage, unexpectedly there was a washer and dryer. Very pleasant surprise. Manager was very helpful.
Would definitely stay here again

Good staff, very helpful. Very good breakfast. Dinner very good though note restaurant seating much better than tables in the bar; we got stuck with noisy bar table for dinner due to late booking. Rooms very nice, newer shower fittings.

10/10 for overall quality, attention to detail, comfort, attentiveness, full English breakfast and more. One tiny niggle - I suspect that the owner's suite was above my room and footsteps above were clearly audible (early and late only). I would strongly recommend this hotel and will stay there again.

It was a great experience for my wife and I to sleep over a pub. The staff were extremely friendly. We met some wonderful people from Wells and we had a really good beer and cider. They even made us a platter of cheese and crackers.
The parking was very good, access to the pub was a little difficult due to the many staircases one had to use to get to our room. It was especially difficult getting large suitcases up, but that is natural when there are no elevators. if It was warm and cozy, the...

We decide to stay at Molton, not York due to the relatively higher price of the York hotel and our trip plan. It proves to be a good choice. The property located in a small and quiet town with about 10-15 minutes walk to the railway station. It may look normal from outside but when you step in, you would be impressed by the warm and cozy atmosphere. The first floor is the restaurant and a bar, with so many selections. The room was super clean and you can tell everything was so well maintained. ...

We would return to this wonderful out of the way inn again. The staff was interested in our stay and our travels each day. They provided wonderful onsite information, as well as, a smile every time we walk in. The food at the inn was beyond expectations.

Lovely old inn, dating to 1776. Has obviously been remodeled since then.glorious comfortable room, nice bathroom.surrounded by trees.Weather perfect when we. Visited, able to sit with a “pint” in the evening & coffee in the morning at the picnic tables on the pretty grounds.

It’s a lovely old building with a good sized room and a comfy bed. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen! But it functioned! There is a lovely view and a lovely and lively pub, helpful and friendly staff and a solid breakfast. We would stay again.

The best area to stay in Levisham is the village center itself, particularly around the main street, for its classic village experience.
This small, quiet village is located within the North York Moors National Park, offering a peaceful retreat. The village is primarily composed of stone cottages, a historic church, and a traditional pub, providing a quintessential English countryside setting. It's an ideal base for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the moors directly from their doorstep.
Couples seeking a tranquil getaway will find Levisham particularly appealing. The area provides direct access to numerous walking trails, including the popular route to the Hole of Horcum, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway station at Levisham is a short walk away, offering scenic steam train journeys through the park.
When is the best time to go to Levisham?
The best time to visit Levisham is during the late spring and summer months, specifically from May to September, when the weather is most favorable for outdoor activities.
During these months, the North York Moors National Park, which surrounds Levisham, is in full bloom, offering pleasant conditions for hiking, cycling, and exploring the scenic landscapes. The longer daylight hours mean more time to enjoy the Levisham Estate and its walking trails, including the path to the Hole of Horcum, a dramatic natural amphitheater. This period is ideal for couples and families looking to enjoy the natural beauty and outdoor pursuits without the chill of cooler seasons.
The shoulder months of April and October also offer good opportunities for a visit, with fewer crowds and often comfortable temperatures, though with a higher chance of rain. Travelers who prefer a quieter experience and don't mind cooler weather might find these months appealing.
