Great resort for a family vacation!!

I usually don't write reviews but this hotel is amazing! We stayed in september. My husband, my two year old son and I. We just LOVED everything. Great staff, the waterpark is all you need for kids to enjoy and have a great time, the food was delicious. My one only complain is too many flies around the fruit and tables at the buffet. :( we are going back in February 2017 we usually dont go to the same hotel again but we just loved this hotel so much. hopefully there is not many flies around the buffet area this time. Lol

Nice place but only for families

Pros: Waterpark for the kids is amazing. Stuff was always polite. Kids area was fantastic for my kids who loved the activities the planned.
Cons: Room are really old. Closet and Bathroom need to be fixed.
Location: Everything is pretty far away and the excursions are really expensive
Considering the All-Inclusive price ($2000 for a family of four) this was a worthy experience. The resort is old (except for the waterpark area which is pretty new). Food was good and service very good. Sushi and Italian restaurants were really good, while the Japanese was a bit disappointing

Fun Water Park for the Kids

Pros: Water park, plentiful chairs, pizzeria.
Cons: Staff could be more friendly &service oriented. Wait time for pizza could be improved - got pizza 3 times & waited 40, 50 and 80 mins respectively.
Location: We never left the resort. About a 90 min ride from airport.
We visited Jewel Runaway Bay for a week over the Thanksgiving holidays (3rd week of Nov.). We are a family of 4 with one 5 year old and a 3 year old. We booked 9 months in advance and got a great deal on this hotel. If it weren't for that fact, I would probably be less pleased with our overall experience. The hotel is perfectly fine - clean, comfortable beds, with perfectly fine room amenities and a pleasant, understated lobby. That said, the rooms are a bit dated. Hot water tends to be a little sparse during high volume times. We timed our showers for outside of the heavy use period and had no hot water issues after that. There are 3 pools, plus the water park & beach. The resort was at capacity during our stay & we never had an issue getting chairs, which was great. I would note that the chairs at the infinity pool would fill up early as it was the most (little) kid friendly of the pools. The water park is great & our kids loved it. We ended up there almost every day. The only comment I would make about the pools/water park/beach is that the life guards were the most friendly of the resort staff, & while there appeared to a ton of them at the water park, there were only a few that really seemed to be paying attention & not all areas of the water park are monitored at all times. The food was perfectly fine. The wait time for pizza was long & when I went to order a bottle of wine, I had to go through 5 different choices before they had one in stock.

Disappointing concierge service, not worth the $$$

Pros: The water park was descent. Davin & Andre were awesome. The housekeeping staff was very attentive
Cons: dismal looking lobby. a waste of my money for concierge. no answer. food quality,variety could be improved.

Great beach and resort

Resort is very nice and the staff is great (timothy and eggboy) were stand outs for us wth excellent service! The beach is perfect! The biggest plus for us is they dont bug you to do excursions or when they have oursiders come in to sell stuff, they let u look wth no pressures to buy anything! You truly get to relax and enjoy yout vacation!!

Best vacation destination

Pros: Children's camp which have a lot of activities planned for the kids whiles mom and da have some lone time.
Cons: Everything is great keep it up
Location: the dolphin cove, dunn's fall
From check-in to check-out this resort blow mind with excellent service. My family had a blast we just returned and we are already planning another trip to the same hotel. There was dull moment at this resort the kids enjoyed every bit of their stay great night life entertainment. Excellent service all round, polite and welcoming staff especially the entertainment crew were really professional.

Water park. Good for kids

Had issues with pluming. No hot water for two days and had a leak from the roof of our room in two places. Paid for a water view and when they moved us it was not. I understand issues happen but could've been delt with better. Restaurants were good but buffet and after hours food was not.

nice hotel, right on the beach

Had a great time at Jewel Runaway Bay. the food was great, with so much variety, it was hard to choose what to have. I especially loved the breakfasts. The staff made one feel they were part of the family. Clean rooms, appreciated the turndown service and bar fridge of cool drinks. Enjoyed the entertainment King Thibo ( I think that was his name) loved you! The only thing that needs an upgrade are the chairs in the lobby. Will definitely visit Jewel Runaway Bay again but with my grandkids, I just know they will have a great time.

Great room, my boys loved the lagoon.

We had a beautiful for my family needs but was disappointed with the bathroom when you shower the floor was wet. The overall hotel facility was good. I didn't like the ideal of been queue to be seated for meals. My boys loved the pools and lagoon.

Excellent Family Vacation

Pros: Definitely the staff. My teen daughter really enjoyed the teen club activities and the water park.
The staff were excellent. The beach was beautiful. The food was great. Really liked that there were Jamaican options for the food and not just North American. Golf was fun - but much more affordable if you bring your own clubs - club rental was expensive when added to cart rental and caddy fees. If you enjoy tennis I really recommend playing with pro during the clinic times - I really enjoyed it. Lots to see when snorkeling on your own - reef close to the beach so easy to do. Rooms near the main pool are loud until 11 pm - so don't pick one of those if you need it to be quieter. It didn't really impact us.
