Basic accommodation but good value, loved the location next to the lock.
The room was basic but very clean with comfortable beds. There was a small fridge which was nice. The air conditioner was a bit noisy. The view from the small balcony out over Lock Seven was terrific, and the highlight of the stay. The desk staff were very nice and helpful and provided us with a good breakfast recommendation and coupon.
The room was clean, front desk gentlemen was very helpful. Balcony is a great addition to the room, you can see the ships passing the lock right from your balcony. Amazing view.
The location is the major appeal of the property. Seeing the ships go by was SO COOL. The property is clean. The rooms are basic and not updated, but meet the standards for a clean and comfortable stay. I just wish there was a microwave.
We really, really enjoyed our quick trip here immensely. The location is fabulous, the rooms are very large, and it had everything we needed. It’s tucked into such a cute little neighborhood as well and not far from NOTL. We definitely want to return!
Very clean and friendly and helpful staff. Has an outside balcony with a great view of ships going though the canal

Our stay was great .. very clean and nice hotel. Was awesome to see the ships going by ! Very close to downtown all shops and restaurants with in walking distance.
Always a great place to take in the fabulous view on the Welland Canal. Watching the ships passing between Erie and Ontario is most relaxing!

The place is old and dated.
Outside and hallways shabby.
Room was very clean and large. Beds were comfortable. Balcony directly in front of lock 7. That was interesting.
Owners and staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are spotlessly clean and it felt like a brand new mattress. It is a dated property with cinderblock walls, an old bathroom, and windows that didn’t work well. But I would still stay here again when I’m in the area because it’s so neat to be able to watch the ships on the canal from your balcony or even your bed!
We planned on attending two shows at the Shaw Festival plus a day of hiking on the Bruce Trail. The location was perfect for both activities- a 25 minute drive to Niagara on the Lake and 15 minutes to the trail head. Also , the inn is four blocks from the old downtown. Check out the Early Bird for breakfast and Donnelly’s for dinner. The Inn’s rooms are basic, but big, bright and super clean with fresh paint and new carpeting. The view of the canal from our balcony was great. We spent quite awhile watching the ships traverse the canal.
Absolutely enjoyed our stay!
The view of the locks was incredible, and watching ships pass through was such a unique experience - could view right from your own balcony.
The inn is older but clean, comfortable, and fairly priced. Friendly staff made check-in easy and welcoming.
Nice older place, and the location is great, you can see the ships going through the locks from your balcony, the small downtown area is only a few blocks away, and it's in a quiet residential area. The rooms have ample space as well.
One drawback for us was no microwave in the room. Apparently "microwave available on request" means you can take your food to the front desk and have them heat it up for you, not that they have some microwaves available to used in your room (like, say, a crib).
AC unit was a little oddly placed (in the entry way, higher than the door) so some of the airflow was blocked. But there was a remote for the AC, and it did work.
Hotel is clean and rooms have a wonderful view of the canal and ships/lakers going through the locks. The hotel is older but very clean and reasonable rate for the area.
