"I arrived before check in hoping to be able to leave my bag in a secure location if my room was not ready (check in was at 3 - I had a ticket for a 3 pm show at Lincoln Center). I have traveled extensively and have arrived early in many places. The usual process has been that my info including a credit card was taken, my bag was stored in a secure location and I was given a bag check. No info was taken and I was instructed to leave my bag in an open area in the lobby just inside the front door with three tall windows on the street. No bag check was given but I was told staff would be there the whole time. When I arrived at 1600 to check in, there was nobody at the desk and the area was open to anybody. After waiting, I called the phone # for the hotel twice. It rang for a long time but no one answered and there was no way to leave a message. Finally a staff person came from the back of the hotel. This is COMPLETELY INADEQUATE SECURITY for my belongings. Generally the staff was rude and unhelpful.The bathroom door in the lobby did not close properly and the security lock on my room did not work (an alternate method of securing the door was available. I would never stay here again and would certainly not recommend this place."

"It's convenient to the theaters, but that’s probably the best thing about it. Rooms are small, even by NYC standards. The “City View” room I booked for visitors had only a sad brick wall to look out to. The elevator situation was ridiculous. I observed a number of people walking up and down to as many as 24 floors since the elevator service was so poor. Finally, maybe not a big thing but still important, would it be so hard to equip rooms with coffee pots??? Not having that small amenity comes across as stingy or maybe just thoughtless. If you are looking for a place near the theatre distinct, you can provably do better than Row."

"The lobby is nice but that’s about it. I arrived and they made me pay another $200 for a “facility fee.” That’s on top of the about $1000 I’d already paid at booking for 4 nights. The beds only had flat sheets. No fitted sheet. No duvet cover. Just two flat sheets below and on top of the duvet insert. Only water was on the 4th floor. Was told check out was at 11am yet staff came into our room unannounced at 9am and asked when we were leaving. The chrome cast tv in our room was also broken. No mini fridge or microwave in the room which would have been fine if I wasn’t charged so much. Unsure what this facility fee was for when the facility is deteriorating, even if they try to cover it by renovating the lobby. Would not stay again."
