“The staff was wonderful. Both the lady who checked us in and the lady who checked us out were very nice, friendly, and welcoming, and they made the experience pleasant. The room itself was just okay. It could have been cleaner, as there were cobwebs in several corners and some areas that were noticeably dusty. The biggest issue, however, was the noise from upstairs. We could literally hear the floor/ceiling creaking and making loud noises throughout the night. It was especially noticeable……

“When I made my reservation through Expedia, I did not notice that it listed a smoking room. I asked if they had a non-smoking room. The clerk said there were none available but I could pay for an upgrade to a Junior Suite. I said no. “The hotel did not honor the room that we had booked and said we should not have booked through Expedia, they didn’t have correct information on the rooms. They gave us an interior room and did not honor the city view or room number that was specified in our reservation with Expedia. The front desk was very unhelpful even though it appeared they had many empty rooms. The hotel had character which we liked, but just the reception we received due to booking through Expedia was awkward. Please be……

“Fantastic historic hotel. Very comfortable beds. Rooms were quiet. We stayed on third floor and had no issues (IYKYK 😀). Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Restaurants are within a block and one is in the hotel. Breakfast was standard breakfast bar but was very good. Definitely will be returning.”
