I booked this hotel exclusively because I was getting married at the nearby Brazilian Room - it was a great location for getting ready and the property was recommended for portraits ahead of the wedding. I booked a Queen Junior Suite for getting ready+ photography and wedding night. When the hotel wrote asking if I had any requests, I did ask if I could be placed in a room where windows wouldnt be obstructed during the hours I would be getting ready (in case of construction, maintenence, etc)
I checked in and was placed in a King Junior Suite. Small upgrade - yay! Property was beautiful but I was slightly annoyed that all my vendors had to pay for a full day of parking as well as me considering how much the room cost.
Even so, suite was really nice with amazing lighting. As Im getting ready for bed, the ceiling starts to leak and its a significant amount of water. They responded quickly and ultimately advise I will need to switch rooms. No problem- its a historic building. Things happen.
It was really the next sequence of events that lead to the lower review.
It is already after 11pm and I am moved into a Bayview King room which is a standard room size. I call the front desk back, explaining I booked a Junior suite as we needed the size and the night manager attempts to convince me its an upgrade. I eventually ended up in a dated Junior suite with 2 full beds which is where we spent our wedding night. I didnt end up settled until 1am. On checkout they removed $100
