"I was extremely disappointed in the condition of the property based on the ratings on hotels.com. Very misleading. The pool area is like a motel off some deserted highway, the buildings are old and smelly. Room was very small and run down. We immediately moved hotels after a horrible experience with hotels.com customer support. I finally found one agent willing to help and actually do their job. The hotel people were amazing about providing us a refund. Hotels.com agents are the kind that hang up on you if they need to do any type of work. But thankful finally one of the hotels.com agents called the hotel to confirm we can do the refund. The staff at the hotel are great and super nice. It just wasn't the place for our family. "

"Rooms were VERY ran down. I asked to be moved to another room because my room was full of rust and I have a crawling baby. I had to keep her in a pack and play 90% of the time in the room. They never followed up with moving me rooms. VERY overpriced for such a ran down community. Staff was decent. I did feel very rural to a lot of areas. "

"We enjoyed our stay overall as the location was amazing ! When we emailed the property manager we got a response fairly quickly and they addressed our issues with the exception of a very slow draining sink in the kitchenette. We managed but dishes would have been easier with a properly draining sink I would absolutely recommend this property and will definitely be back if we are back on Kauai ! "

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our stay at this Kapa'a, Kauai house. This is a true beach house and not a new, modern place. But we loved the ocean breezes that kept the house cool, the well-stocked kitchen, and the lovely, deep front porch. The layout worked for us and each bedroom had its own bathroom. We were provided with beach chairs, an umbrella, and towels, as well as snorkeling equipment. The house is only about 7 miles from the airport and near the old town of Kapa'a so there were lots of shops, coffee spots, and restaurants/food trucks close by. There is also a nice walking/running path along the coast that is quickly accessible. I would rent this house again in a second. (The rental is handled by an agency and communication is not through the VRBO app once you book. This caused us some confusion initially.)"
