Top Rye Castle Museum Hotel Reviews
The Mermaid Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Great location, great food and a thoroughly enjoyable stay"
The George in Rye
10/10 Excellent
"Had an amazing 3 nights at the George Hotel in Rye. The hotel environment made the stay so relaxing . The Grill Restaurant provided delicious dinner with attentive staff as was so with the breakfasts each morning. The reception staff were very helpful making sure that the two rooms booked were right for our family of four.. This was particularly important as my husband has mobility issues relating to Parkinson's. The room was great with step free access from the road. We would certainly use the George again."
The Lookout Rye
8/10 Good
"Great location and lovely furnishings. Very helpful and friendly staff."
The Ship Inn
8/10 Good
"Great location right in the centre of Rye and the staff were helpful. The room was bright and well cleaned. Enjoyed the breakfast. Would have been nice to get a bit more ventilation as the weather was so hot. Also the WI-FI was rather unreliable, working at first and then stopping. Overall, a good experience and would recommend."
The Old Borough Arms
8/10 Good
"Clean room. Very helpful staff. In the middle of all activities. Could not find hairdryer in the room. I thought that parking was available but it’s parking on the road and only two hours during the day but plentiful car parks nearby. Super ice cream shop attached to property."
Pretty 18th century cottage centrally situated on Mermaid Street in Rye
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at Mermaid Cottage for a week at the beginning of July. We arrived by train, and the cottage was within easy walking distance from the station. There were also buses departing nearby to various beaches, which was very convenient for us.The house had everything we needed, including comfortable beds, fans, and a well-equipped kitchen. The Wi-Fi worked well, and the bed linen and towels were of excellent quality.Communication with Clare was outstanding. She helped us with many different things and was always quick to respond to any questions. We highly recommend staying here!"
Chequer - a holiday let that sleeps 14 guests in 7 bedrooms
10/10 Excellent
"We loved it sooo much and had the best time. The decor is gorgeous, the beds were so comfy and we had everything we needed for a fabulous weekend :) Only thing I would say is that the balconies needed a tiny refresh. There was lot's of bird poo on the glass on the balcony off from the kitchen and the larger balcony at the bottom could do with the hedge cutting and weeds removed down the stairs. These are really only minor things as overall it was perfect!"
The Kings Head Rye
10/10 Excellent
"Have stayed many times before, we always have a laugh with the staff and breakfast is excellent. Will continue to go back."
An unusual two-storey apartment with beams and an open fire.
8/10 Good
"The novelty of staying in a 400 year old property, in an incredible location, right in the middle of Rye, made this the perfect place for a long weekend. Everything needed was right out the front door - museums, castle, pubs, and cafes. The actual house was well laid out with decent furnishings and clean towels, and linens. However, it was dirty in areas, like the crockery all had to be washed before use, blinds were dirty and dusty, and there was a lot of dust, dirt and dog hair around. Not ideal when having small children running about. Ultimately a small thing for such a wonderful place, but it did mean we ate out more then we were planning to."
