Top Rye Castle Museum Hotel Reviews
The Lookout Rye
8/10 Good
"Great location and lovely furnishings. Very helpful and friendly staff."
The Ship Inn
8/10 Good
"Great location right in the centre of Rye and the staff were helpful. The room was bright and well cleaned. Enjoyed the breakfast. Would have been nice to get a bit more ventilation as the weather was so hot. Also the WI-FI was rather unreliable, working at first and then stopping. Overall, a good experience and would recommend."
The Old Borough Arms
8/10 Good
"Clean room. Very helpful staff. In the middle of all activities. Could not find hairdryer in the room. I thought that parking was available but it’s parking on the road and only two hours during the day but plentiful car parks nearby. Super ice cream shop attached to property."
Pretty 18th century cottage centrally situated on Mermaid Street in Rye
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at Mermaid Cottage for a week at the beginning of July. We arrived by train, and the cottage was within easy walking distance from the station. There were also buses departing nearby to various beaches, which was very convenient for us.The house had everything we needed, including comfortable beds, fans, and a well-equipped kitchen. The Wi-Fi worked well, and the bed linen and towels were of excellent quality.Communication with Clare was outstanding. She helped us with many different things and was always quick to respond to any questions. We highly recommend staying here!"
Chequer - a holiday let that sleeps 14 guests in 7 bedrooms
10/10 Excellent
"We loved it sooo much and had the best time. The decor is gorgeous, the beds were so comfy and we had everything we needed for a fabulous weekend :) Only thing I would say is that the balconies needed a tiny refresh. There was lot's of bird poo on the glass on the balcony off from the kitchen and the larger balcony at the bottom could do with the hedge cutting and weeds removed down the stairs. These are really only minor things as overall it was perfect!"
The Kings Head Rye
10/10 Excellent
"Have stayed many times before, we always have a laugh with the staff and breakfast is excellent. Will continue to go back."
An unusual two-storey apartment with beams and an open fire.
8/10 Good
"The novelty of staying in a 400 year old property, in an incredible location, right in the middle of Rye, made this the perfect place for a long weekend. Everything needed was right out the front door - museums, castle, pubs, and cafes. The actual house was well laid out with decent furnishings and clean towels, and linens. However, it was dirty in areas, like the crockery all had to be washed before use, blinds were dirty and dusty, and there was a lot of dust, dirt and dog hair around. Not ideal when having small children running about. Ultimately a small thing for such a wonderful place, but it did mean we ate out more then we were planning to."
2 bedroom accommodation in Rye
10/10 Excellent
"We loved our stay. The location is fantastic and for us with children being opposite the playground as well as such a short walk into town was great. Rye is just a lovely place and with Camber Sands and other lovely places to explore nearby you can’t go wrong with the location. The main living space is really well equipped with loads of kitchen stuff, sharp knives, comfy sofas and a great selection of books and games. The beds are comfortable and shower is a good pressure. We’d definitely come back. Things to note from other reviews - The noise from the road wasn’t as bad as we’d thought it could be knowing the area and seeing other reviews. The garden could do with some TLC and the steps leading up got a little slippery in the rain so did need to hold onto my 3 year old going up and down but not enough of an issue to detract from the benefit of everything else. We’d definitely come back!"
