“The Mermaid Inn is a very old listed building with bags of history. As such, you don't expect there to be a lift, and the floorboards creak, but I got to sleep in a 4-poster bed which is not something you would experience in a modern hotel! The staff were always friendly and helpful, the bars were well stocked and the food good. It was a different and enjoyable experience, which I would recommend to anyone planning to come to the beautiful town of Rye.”
“Really good location, just a short walk from the centre. Being able to park was a real bonus. Freshly cooked breakfast and friendly staff. Room pleasant and clean. Good value for money and would use this hotel again.”
“I'm not usually a B&B person but it had such amazing reviews we gave it a try and it lived up to every 5 star review. It is absolutely gorgeous, the room was spacious and had the most fabulous bathtub. The breakfast is wonderful and Karen is so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend The Laindons.”
“Wonderful stay. Clean and with all the amenities you need. Great location. Privacy. Lovely pub with great food, super friendly. Had a small issue so we called Jonny who answered on the 2nd ring, talked us through the solution, and then gave us some tips on things to do. Great service. Highly recommend and we’ll be back in the autumn.”
“Staff were lovely. Rooms and beds clean. Could do with tissue paper in the rooms and bigger tea cups.
Main complaint was how small the twin beds were.
It was like sleeping in a child’s cot without the sides on.
On the whole a pleasant stay.”
“The staff were all wonderful and helpful . It was 36c+ . The building is an old historic property with newly refurbished bedrooms . A fan was in the room to help with the heat . Small but comfortable with a lovely bathroom. My room faced the front and with the heat I needed my window open . The property is by the traffic lights so if you are traffic averse , ask for a rear room . Breakfast is continental but you can pay extra for a cooked breakfast, but not on Sundays . Room for 3 cars to park……
