This meticulously crafted haven, overseen by Moonrise Vacation Properties, LLC, is situated on almost five acres of secluded land in Eastern Tennessee. Adjacent to its counterpart, Howlin' at the Moon, this retreat offers a serene ambiance with two bedrooms, private bathrooms, and a cozy loft featuring a queen-sized bed. Unwind in the expansive pool equipped with jets and a hot tub, or engage in various entertainment options, including a TV, air hockey, and an arcade game boasting over 3000 games.

Immerse yourself in the tranquility and natural beauty of the surroundings while enjoying the covered decks on both the main level and basement, where you can bask in awe-inspiring mountain panoramas. Barkin' at the Moon happily accommodates dogs for $35 per dog per night, ensuring a pet-friendly retreat. Please be advised that cats are not permitted due to the owner's allergies.

During the winter season, a 4-wheel drive vehicle is essential to access the property, although the steep driveway is easily manageable. Each cabin provides parking space for two vehicles, with additional parking available at the bottom of the driveway. Plan your unforgettable retreat in the Smoky Mountains at Barkin' at the Moon and relish in the magic of this extraordinary cabin rental nestled in the heart of the mountains.

Please note that we do not provide baby gates and do not allow them to be pressure-mounted due to damage to tongue and groove.

Amazing place! Owners are amazing. Very clean. Close to all attractions but still secluded. We loved the hot tub and pool. The bed was cozy. The back porches are very nice. The only downfall was the the driveway. It’s very steep and there’s barely room to turn around once you get in. Two cabins share the same drive and it’s tough to navigate especially in a full size truck.

Fun time!!

This cabin was a huge hit with my adult children and my young ones too. We really didn’t go anywhere as our goal was to spend quality time, and the cabin with games and indoor pool made it fun and possible to just hang and relax. We will be back!! :)

We were overall impressed with our stay! A few minor things we noticed while there was the upstairs smelt like dog and the main level had quite a bit of dog hair on the floors. Overall we had a great stay!

Had a wonderful time at the house. The house was beautiful and decorated beautiful. The Christmas touches was nice to see since it was our Christmas vacation. They had snacks for humans and treats for dogs which was the best touch

Amazing cabin!

I stayed here for 10 days and I wish I could have stayed longer. The cabin was so beautiful and peaceful. It was also MUCH closer to everything than I thought when I booked it. Only took a few minutes to get to most things in Pigeon Forge but was also secluded enough to be quiet and relaxing. I loved every minute I was there. I definitely want to book again.

Great stay!!

This was such a great home to stay in! So quiet, but still close to all of the "action". Extremely clean, and the owners thought of everything- things like extra trash bags, dishwasher and laundry pods, a big basket of snacks (the kids loved those after the long drive from NJ!), and even a dog bed, leashes, and dog shampoo! Having the indoor pool and hot tub were great. And our 12 year old actually got off his iPad games to play air hockey :-) Would definitely recommend this house for a nice relaxing family trip!!

Peaceful Oasis Amongst the Chaos

We came to Gatliburg for my brothers wedding. The entire week was filled with chaos between the last minute preparations, the wedding itself and the aftermath of a family gathering. This cabin was our peace and quiet time. We truly enjoyed being able to enjoy the high end luxuries offered at Barkin at the Moon. The pool was a relief after a hot day in the June sun. The porches were pleasant for a quiet cup of morning coffee. This cabin is quite secluded! We enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen and back porch grill when we made steak dinners for my aunt and uncle. Located just 10 minutes from everything in Pigeon Forge! We will definitely stay again!

Spring Vacation

My family enjoyed our long weekend stay at Barkin’ at the Moon. Our boys absolutely loved the pool and hardly ever wanted to do anything else! We also brought our 2 dogs, and we’re blown away by the thoughtfulness and attention to detail for guests traveling with pets (doggie bed, extra large crate, even little dog treats!) There is a nice dog park about 10 minutes away that our dogs enjoyed daily. Due to misuse from some previous renters, we had an issue with the arcade system and the septic system while we were there. However, the owners were incredibly responsive and got a plumber out within hours. We will definitely keep this place in mind for future visits!

Great Host!

The host is a dream to work with! Very quick to respond with any questions or concerns. The cabin is very well stocked with everything you could possibly need for yourself or your pup! The bed on the main floor was very comfortable.The cabin was close to all things in Pigeon Forge and about a one hour drive to Cades Cove. The things we did not love… the driveway up to the cabin is VERY steep and the parking is extremely tight. Your allowed 2 vehicles, we only had one truck and it was extremely difficult to get turned around. The description also states jetted tub in the main level bathroom and it is not…while this is just a personal preference for us, this is something when traveling we look for when selecting a place to stay.

Awesome cabin and wonderful family memories!

My family and I stayed at the cabin, ‘Barkin at the moon.’ This cabin offered everything we could possibly want and need for the weekend. They thought of everything from the children to our dog. We had a wonderful time playing the board games, air hockey, and the game system. We were in an out of the pool and hot tub many times. it was so nice having our own private pool and hot tub. We could go anytime we wanted. We took morning swims as well as nighttime swims. We did not have to leave our cabin. We had everything we needed. We stopped by the grocery store on our way in and enjoyed the time together as a family. The beds were very comfortable. Jaime was very responsive to any of our questions. The description of the cabin was very accurate. We are looking forward to returning to the cabin.

Great family cabin

Nice cabin with a resort type feel. We traveled with our three children (newborn to five), the grandparents and pups. The cabin was clean and the owners were very responsive. There was a welcome basket, soaps in the bathroom, as well as amenities such as a pack-n-play, dog crates, etc. which came in good use for us. We were nervous to have the kids sleep in the loft (they could stand on the bed and fall over the rail), so we actually slid the mattress into the corner of the bedroom and all stayed in one room (grandparents in the other bedroom). Also, within 10 minutes of the grocery and close to Dollywood, etc. Small drawbacks would be little to no grass for the dogs, but it appears they are trying to grow some and our dogs had no issues. A portion of the road near the cabin is single lane and we had to stop once and back up a ways, so a car could pass (go slow and beep around corners to avoid accidents). Lastly, the driveway is steep and parking could be tight if both cabins are full. I would not stay in the winter as I would be worried about getting up and down.

Location and Amenities are horrible

Getting to the cabin is horrible, It is on a one lane road that has traffic going in both directions so it is very dangerous and then once you get there, the parking is very tight and we had to ask the people staying in the other cabin to move their cars just so we could come and go from the cabin. The driveway is very steep and narrow. The advertisement we got for the cabin said it is TN law that there has to be an alarm on the pool so we felt it would we safe because we stayed at other places before with pool alarms. Once we got to the cabin we found out that not only did the alarm NOT work but the pool room door didn't even latch. We had young children with us so he could have easily walked into the pool room and drowned and we would not have known. When I called to report the issues the manager told me that she knew the alarm was broken and they sent their handy man out the next morning to fix it. Also the pool was filled with dead bugs. The hot tub was more like sitting in a warm bath. The jets are a joke and barely work. The water fall feature on the hot tub that overflowed in to the pool broke while we were there. There were no door or baby gate at the top of the basement steps. The bed was uncomfortable and so was the couch in the living room. Bedrooms should have had a chair or something to sit on. The bed was high so for short people like myself it was difficult to get in and out of. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Nice weekend in the Smokies

The cabin was beautiful and cozy. It was nice and quiet and very close to town. The pool was great! We loved the air hockey table and arcade games. The road up to the cabin is a bit of an adventure, definitely didn't want to drive it at night. Parking was very tight with two SUVs but we felt accomplished getting them both in the spots, and grateful that the other cabin only had one car so that we could turn around and back in. The host was super friendly and helpful and quick to respond when we had questions. This is the first pet friendly cabin experience Ive had, it made me wish I had a dog with all the fun amenities for them around the cabin! Thank you for a fun weekend!
