The city center is compact and easily walkable, centered around the St Davids Cathedral and the adjacent Bishop's Palace ruins. You'll find a selection of local shops, eateries, and galleries clustered along the main streets, like High Street and New Street. Its central location makes it an ideal base for exploring the city and the surrounding Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

For couples seeking a blend of convenience and a relaxed atmosphere, staying within the city center is ideal. You'll be steps away from historic sites, and many accommodations offer easy access to coastal path walks, great for scenic strolls.

Travelers looking for a peaceful retreat with good access to the coast might consider accommodations just outside the immediate city center, towards Caerfai Bay or Whitesands Bay.

The best time to visit St Davids is during the late spring, from May to June, or the early autumn, in September and October.

These months offer pleasant weather conditions, fewer crowds than the peak summer season, and a good balance for enjoying both outdoor activities and the town's historical sites. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is particularly enjoyable during these times, with wildflowers blooming in spring and milder temperatures in autumn.

For couples looking for a romantic getaway, late spring provides beautiful scenery and the opportunity for quiet walks along the coast. Many local restaurants and shops are open, but without the busiest summer crowds.

Families planning a trip will find early autumn suitable, as the sea temperatures are still comfortable for beach activities, and the school holiday rush has subsided.
