The Hampton Inn on Dorsett Rd in Maryland Heights gets an A+ in cleanliness and so much more. First it passed my clean test - I wipe everything down. I’m a teacher. That’s what I do. Then, it passed my husband’s requirements which are temperature control (he likes a cold room), huge flat screen ( tons of channels for all of his sports), and a steady stream of hot water in the shower. That night, while we were listening to our favorite band ( FYI there are many things to do near this hotel), I received a text from the hotel asking if we needed anything. I asked for extra towels and extra coffee. Bless them, they left it outside the door, so we had them when we returned. The next morning, they had a great breakfast with everything you could want. Fresh and delicious. Finally, I can’t adequately state how courteous and accommodating the staff was. They went above and beyond. Positive and friendly. The Hampton Inn checked all the boxes and we will definitely be staying here again. On check in the place smelled like fingernail polish as they were having some sort of nail polish meeting. Traveled with friends and we were visiting outside as a few cars came into the lot and sped out several times. We thought maybe they were planning to steal cars or cat convertors but later determined they were most likely affiliated with the single ladies hanging out in the lobby. The walls and windows are very poorly insulated. The noise from the outside was so loud that I thought that our window was open; it wasn’t. The interstate traffic noise is awful. We heard the people in the room next to us opening packages. You would have thought that they were in the same room. There was some wooden type wedge holding the air conditioning unit in place. It wasn’t the dirtiest hotel that I’ve stayed in, but it’s definitely not clean. The carpets are dirty and the towels are yellow. The breakfast was nearly gone at 7:30 a.m. and what was left was inedible. The biscuits were rock hard. When I called to book the hotel the rate that I was given was $283\. I booked through a third party site for $207\. This is a more like a Motel 6 or any other $69 night hotel.
